If Corbyn wins then politics will change

Since its been summer I've been keeping away from much of the news, so have only heard second hand accounts of Jeremy Corbyn.

Many of those are dire predictions of this  or that ( resignations, coups, years in the wilderness etc). Almost all of them, I would venture, will be wrong.

Since the Conservative party abandoned defending principle under Cameron, it has also given up educating the electorate. This has left a window of opportunity for the left to propose a radical agenda and be able to rely on the electorate nativity and ignorance to give it a chance. The left were clearly inspired by Syriaza in Greece - though as with all left wing projects the outcome has not been good for the people.

So here are my predictions:

1) Corbyn will shore up Labour's hemorrhaging of support to UKIP ( unless he does so really stupid things with his friends in the IRA, HAMAS, ISIL etc that call into question his patriotism ). The working class's beef has been with career politicians and New Labour types.
2) The EU referendum is now wide open - whilst the establishment will try to tie Labour into the UK surrender part group - Corbyn may allow a free vote or even commit against the EU.
3) The US will be alarmed - very alarmed ( or at least those not working for the direct political team of the current administration will be - as lets face it they are working against the US also ).
4) The Lib Dems have their life raft - if their poll numbers pick up they could get some defections from Labour.
5) Most of the Labour party will shortly go through its Stockholm process with the new hard left/Union administration and go native. Socialists are all about suspending the power of thought and following the dear leader - they will fall into line.
6) Finally the right will realise its needs to defend capitalism rather than just triangulate to fool weak minded voters with tip bits of left wing policies.

Any more ? ( Or will it be Yvette ? )

The DeadEd society swings into action

Those of us on the right have been going easy on #RedEd over the last few months,

Why ?

Because we realise the monumental mistake Labour has made in allowing another unelected leader ( if you ignore the Unions ), and specifically Ed Miliband to become leader.

The game has been not to rock the boat too much before Red Ed can become a two term leader of the opposition.

However it seems the Balirite wing of the Labour party don't intend to allow things to go on that long (shame that). The slow motion assassination of another Labour leader has started. The finger prints are unmistakable - the leak of the highly damning Ed Balls papers. ( Frankly those of us without scales in front of our eyes always knew Ed Balls for what he is now proven to be and didn't need any leaks to tell us. ) If this had been from Conservative sources it would have happened when it was too late to replace #RedEd before the next general election.

Now the Guardian and Observer are getting a whole raft of the "time is up for Red Ed" type articles, and his brother leadership acceptance speech ( which he didn't need thanks to the fraternicide ) has appeared in the Times ( aledgedly since the Times disappeared from the world a while ago into its own little bubble ). Labour members can read what leadership would have looked like by the brother that doesn't hand out blank bits of paper as policy ideas or apologies for the past.

Can Labour save themselves ?

Personally I hope not - I'd rather see an ongoing civil war with no clear victor. But its going to be entertaining anyway and they have bought this on themselves just as they have brought ruin on the heads of everyone in this country.

I will be getting my bowl of popcorn ready for the show ...

The TB GB's part II rated 18
(Those of a delusional left wing nature may find a lot of what's about to happen very upsetting - look away now Polly Toynbee .)

Update: This article by Dan Hodges is worth a read - I have to say very hopeful for those of us who dispise the waste and destruction that Labour governments always bring.

And for Sunday there's reports of the Ed vs David fraternicidal relationship.

The bad press is piling up - see Guido using the Dead Ed meme with his summary of Labour's car crash Sunday press.

The question is being asked how many years Labour are going to be in navel gazing mode for ( please let it be > 20 ! ).

An independent line

It certainly felt good to see David and Sam Cameron enter Downing street. I'm a Conservative party member who campaigned for a Conservative government, and whilst this isn't precisely what I campaigned for it contains many of the key elements.

During the campaign I've mostly targeted my comments at other parties and avoided any issues I might have with my own, except for the English Question.

Well here comes the but - normal service will be resumed shortly.

I'm still a Conservative, but I'm not a slavish follower and we're not under election conditions so I'll be speaking my mind here.

I'm economically liberal, but socially conservative. I'm patriotic but pragmatic. I willing to give the benefit of the doubt but not to be taken for a ride. Lets see how the coalition works out, I won't hold back from criticism where I think its warranted.

Two major areas of disagreement I expect to have with the new government are on;

    1) An English Parliament - its very clear we should have one. I also think this would make our country stable again and save the Union. A lot of Unionist seem to oppose giving the English their national recognition, but they are making a fatal mistake.
    2) The Climate Change Fallacy - Sorry guys I am very far from being convinced that the Warmest argument is true, indeed the majority of reliable evidence (known as the geological record) points the other way.

These are the two main points but there will be others.

We are setting of into the unknown with the coalition - but independence of thought and opinion will continue here, though I'll not be unnecessarily unhelpful - apart from this ;-) .

PS I've a lot of work to make up after the last month, so forgive me if blogging is a bit more sparse. In many ways the next month or two will belong to Labour bloggers anyway as they try to react to their defeat and need for a new leader ( hint - this time try having an election ).

There's only one secret ballot on Gordon's leadership the people want

And its a general election !

Let all vote on Gordon ....

Update:

This just in from Conservative Home - marginally off topic, but its just brilliant and shows how bad things are.Man in a Shed recommends that its time to table that motion of no confidence that will save Gordon but finish Labour.

Labour must by now be entering coffin corner

Tempus Fugit.

By now surely the Labour leaders have to chose their election date. So much has to be planned around governing early next year. We have the pre-budget statement soon and the real thing in April ( the pre-budget statement was a Brown invention to get two goes and the same announcements and free publicity - when you have good news to impart. )

If Brown were to stop being PM then would there be time for Labour to go to the country with anyone else than Harriet Harman as PM ? Time must be running out.

Whilst the Conservative leadership contest improved the party's popularity, a Labour one might do the opposite. Campaigning for votes with the trade unions and those party members still left will be a left wing envy driven affair. Lots of hints about further crushing the middle classes will be made - indeed they have already started.

Maybe the core vote might hold up - but then the betrayals on Afghanistan and Immigration are most keenly felt by the same people so they can't rely on that.

Labour have entered that corner of the electoral envelope that's like the maximum cruising heigh for an airliner. Any slower and it will stall, any faster and shock waves will form. Its coffin corner, and I always thought that after seeing Jim Callaghan back himself into it in 1979 that Labour would know better.

Surely it is now too late to replace Brown ?

The final sign that Cameron agrees will be when he starts landing hard punches in PMQs. I suspect he'll wait till after Christmas when the brutal nature of the new year has to be faced up to.

James Purnell Labour Von Stauffenberg ?

<- James Purnell

Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg ->

If it were done when 'tis done, then 'twere well It were done quickly

Its starting to look like Labour can't even organise a coup against the worse Prime Minister in living memory who is leading his party to defeat and the country to disaster.

For the good of the country - get rid of him !

Update: Fast developing Coup attempt after 10pm tonight. Looks like a concerted plot is being executed.

Further: That now looks to optimistic. This is looking like the assassination plot against you know who where everyone failed to press their advantage and get hung up on piano wire.

Brown - the Downfall

I've been re-reading Antony Beevor's "Berlin - the downfall", and I'm looking forward to his account of D-Day especially if there's an electronic book version.

Many, many people have likened the Brown regime to the self deluded National Socialist regime in Berlin 1945. It an analogy that chimes, and I think Labour have had a few attempts at trying to shrug of the association. But those eager people on Youtube keep turning out "Downfall" (the German film) versions with Brown as the ranting Fuhrer.

The term bunker mentality is continually used about No10, and its the bunker in 1945 Berlin that people have in mind when they use that term.

We know that Brown has these rages ( just check the requisitions for Nokias ). We also know he lives in a fantasy land where he believes that propaganda (now known as spin) makes reality.

In the book one by one the grotesque figures of the Third Reich betray their Fuhrer, or are deemed to have done so.

Now we have Jacqui Smith going, Darling getting ready for the firing squad and Brown's most loyal henchman Balls getting ready for his reward for serving his master. Someone is briefing against the Brown camp very close to his inner circle. Labour MPs are looking for their Stauffenbergto deliver them from destruction and the hands of the blue horde that has risen in anger at the willful financial, moral and social destruction wreaked on this land by Labour and its minions.

Brown's downfall it seems must be close, after all what choice does Labour have. The Tories are at the Oder with overwhelming forces - but will Brown, like Hitler, demand that everything is destroyed first before a disaster worthy of marking his end is inflicted on this United Kingdom? (which like many deranged bigots in the Labour party he assumes is synonymous with the party - just as Hitler thought of National Socialism and Germany).

Update: It certainly feels like the end now. David Cameron was clearly pulling his punches at PMQs, but in a clever way ( asking the questions Brown could be expected to have a prepared answer for ).

The Guardian is calling for him to go, and talking about the infamous "bunker".

How much longer can he last ?

Brown - all tactics, no strategy.

Its getting grim out there. Today's attempt by Gordon Brown to get the focus of his failings as a leader just go on to expose more.

He can see that the Conservative education policy is going to be very popular, but this time he can't copy it as it goes against the control needed to ensure that everyone suffers socialism to the same extent.

His analysis is a tactical response to the opposition. Not an idea driven by any strategy Labour might have ( or that Vision he pathetically tried to convince us he wasn't going to run and win the election that never was for ).

The solution to bad schools ? Get local authorities more involved after checking the views of parents whose kids don't go to those schools yet.

The uninformed parents are supposed to be better judges of a schools capability than say Ofsted, and the LEA is of course the salvation for education.

There will be school improvement plans, armies of education consultants ( different ones every month if the experience I've seen is anything to go by ), federations of schools, confederations of schools - with no doubt hit squads redoing whats meant to happen anyway.

If you think that's going to work, then perhaps its time to start suing the education authority that provided your own supposed education.

The Conservative education policies are some of the most exciting aspects of a potential new government. They are very much over due as this tired tactical response of an exhausted, discredited and useless government shows full well.

PS For once the BBC does a very good job of reporting this. See here if your not to easily shocked.Justify Full

Gordon Brown is a bad leader- official

For some reason leadership was apparently being discussed in my daughter's Sunday School class. She chipped in with the comment that "Gordon Brown is a bad leader " ( no I haven't even been discussing it with her ) " but that Obama was probably a bit better " ( that's what you get when you take your news from the Marxist BBC's Newsround programme for kids ).

So I think its game over for Brown if even eight year olds can spot he's no good just by watching BBC children's TV. ( Ok just possibly she's overheard her Father sounding of when listening to the radio just a bit ... )

PS I'm fairly sure the Obama thing will correct itself as the evidence and the bills for the Americans come in.

46% on Labour home thought speech was poor (1 out of 10)

OK no doubt they will fix this shortly .... can't have too much candour can we ?

Miliband loves Big Brother - onward Airstrip One !

The conversion of David Miliband to the cause of Gordon ( as he keeps calling Mr Brown ) is sudden and striking. Not long ago he wrote his Guardian article, gave those impromptu interviews appeared on the Jeremy Vine show - and here's the clincher the Brown camp went into spin / smear over drive to do him down (showing they thought it was a real challenge ).

Now about a week ago we had David Miliband paraded as a prize by the Brown camp in Birmingham - repeating that he loved Big Brother and only Big Brother could be PM.

I'm just watching his performance on The Politics show, which may be the end of his political career as he loses all credibility, and again what sounds like a forced conversion comes over.

Its like seeing Winston Smith under the chestnut tree listing to the view screen for the latest news on the battles and victories of Airstrip One, having finally realised he loves Big Brother.

Just what David Miliband found in room 101 may always be a mystery, but the Brown camp will have been very well informed about any unfortunate incidents in his past. The public humiliation and punishment of Ivan Lewis by who knows whom has made it clear to ministers the fate that awaits those who cross Big Brother.

How long can this go on ?

See Kerron Cross here ...

Some in Labour as still campaigning for obedient loyalty to the man who showed no such thing to the man he deposed replaced.

Do none of them think of the country ?

Further:

See the case being made by Iain Martin for John Reid to take on Brown - it looks plausible to me. At least there would be some direction in government, even if an ex-Communist was PM.

Wow

In the lyrics (as far as MiaS can remember them) of Kate Bush - "Wow -Unbelievable".

Edward Timpson has a 7,860 majority. Well done to Mr Timpson.

That's not just a message from the electorate, Hazel. Its a shock wave.

You wouldn't want to be the mobile phone that Gordon received that news on would you ?

Labour start burying more bad news - for them

The Labour party has just admitted that David Pitt-Watson, that most Labour of people and investment banker, is not to be the next general sec ( the last one is awaiting his day in court for Labour's fund raising activities ).

This is another slap in the face for Gordon Brown who tried to impose him on his minions in the so called Labour party. The reasons can only be guessed at - but perhaps the personal liability for Labour's debts apparently rests with their NEC and Mr Pitt-Watson is a wealthy man, so his commitment to socialism doesn't stretch to underwriting its debts.

PS The brass neck award for denying the bleeding obvious goes to Ed Balls who I heard on the radio an hour ago trying to say now they've got David Cameron just where they want him.....

PPS As you might expect Guido is busy being cruel on this subject here .... ;-)

Miliband only gives Brown one year ?

See the following quote (from a BBC article) from David Miliband's press conference with the Turkish foreign affairs minister :

At a press conference with Turkey's foreign affairs minister, Foreign Secretary David Miliband dismissed suggestions it was time to replace Mr Brown.

He said: "Gordon Brown was the right man to become prime minister last year and is the right man to lead the Labour Party this year."

Only "this year" ?(Which is 1Qtr over already).

This is as good as that quote the boy Miliband gave on us wanting Blair back shortly after Brown took over in office. Not very diplomatic young David.

The coming end of Gordon Brown ?

If you haven't read Matthew Paris's article in the Times on Sunday you should. He's a journalist who has strong instincts and something has been bothering him about Gordon Brown for some time. But what is really important is his criticism of the MSM. I highly recommend reading his article here.

And then Ben Brogan's quoting Poly the Guardianista Twit's gradual realisation that Gordon is a disaster for Labour. ( Ben is also reporting on the dawning dread in Labour. )

I said to my wife a few days ago that I now think Gordon Brown will be forced from office by his own party - desperate to save themselves. She wondered why she hadn't heard about it on the BBC .....

Labour are about to try to pull of one of the greatest confidence ticks of all time - trying to claim they are not responsible for the last wasted 10 years, and especially the last 1. Who will front up ? Postman Pat ( on the Daily Politics today - legs crossed relaxing ), the gap year student David ?

Man in a Shed now expects Brown to resign for health reasons this year, combined with the wish to spend more time with his children. If he had any sense he would realise that he is not needed as PM but could yet find fulfilment and happiness at home in Kirkcaldy. (Whilst I despise the politics and methods of Dr Brown, I would still wish him happiness in retirement.)

Update: The Mole thinks Brown will not be deposed in a leadership contest. However, that doesn't rule out the Wilson option or the Major options.

Perhaps the Major gambit would be the most entertaining ( resigning then running for leader again to flush out any opposition - this is what Blair should have done to crush Brown).

Update Simon Heffer however thinks that Brown may be forced out by the senior end of the Labour party.

Big ears goes for Grumpy's throat

Open warfare has now started between the Blairites and those attached to the Brown Titanic government which has hit the ice berg of Gordon's personality flaws and disastrous failure to manage particular aspect of the economy whilst splurging everyone's pensions on unreformed public services.

Frankly this is a direct attack on the prime minister and a call for his removal from his own party !!

From Press Assoc. - Saturday, February 9 06:55 am

Mr Clarke told the Mail: "The Prime Minister cannot bear anyone who challenges him. We are conveying a sense of drift and uncertainty. Only Gordon can change this - if he is capable of doing so. Unfortunately, he hasn't the confidence of the country because of the things he has done.

"I have to start a debate about all this because it is only two and a half years until the next general election, and it is imperative that there is a discussion of Labour's future before it has no future and is obliterated.

Rough translation - Grumpy's a nutter and now everyone knows it. We're doomed unless we dump him quick.

Now the Balirites can start their civil war.....
