Labour's new leader is already an accomplished liar and coward - ( unless its Diane Abbott )

How do I know this ? Well listening to Steve Richards’s first edition [link only valid for a few days] of his programme on the Brown years in No 10.

We hear ex-minister talking about the lies with the election that never was.

We know that things were terrible in No10, with Brown moving between despair and rage - and that was on a good day. We also know that none of the narrow minded selfish careerists put country before their own ambition and tried to do anything about it.

We know that factions briefed and lied against each other.

We know that Brown lied directly to the camera about the election that never was and that it was the middle class of southern England who saved the country ( I think those of us in that category can all have a little pat on the back for that one. )

Combine this with the cowardice that all the main candidates except perhaps David Miliband have show over the massive crippling debt they run up and the structural deficit Brown introduced just ( remember this ) to make it hard for the Tories at the general election. ( This is on record when Brown was talking to a Clinton adviser who asked him why he was running a deficit in the good times and Brown answered to make life difficult for the Tories at the election ).

Brown and co got of lightly over their tactical attempts to copy the Conservative inheritance tax proposals, which they then shamelessly tried to attack latter. ( My guess is that the thing that scared Brown and his Labour skivvies was the impact on the key voter group they were denying was tipping their election date considerations ).

No one who was in Brown's government is morally fit to run this country and unless Labour have a strange turn and election Diane Abbott then it means the next Labour leader is already damaged goods.

Sometimes we have very short memories in politics - but the moral corruption of the last Labour government should be a memory many of us keep alive for a very long time.

What will Gordon's biggest lie be in the budget this time ?

So it looks like Gordon's going to go through the theatre of a pre-election budget.

This can mean only one thing - he's going to get Darling to lie big time.

He'll no doubt use his traditional tricks including:

  1. Hiding in the small print - so the headlines won't pick up on the downside.
  2. Lots are straight bold lies - eg "Best placed in Europe to weather the recession " "No more boom & Bust" etc etc.
  3. Lies within lies eg "Because of the great economic performance we are able to borrow at this time of need without risk ". ( Its easy to pick up on the second one, but if your not careful you swallow the first. )
  4. Stealth wealth confiscation - eg death taxes and continuing to steal from peoples private pensions whilst using the money to buy votes for himself.
What else do you think he'll try ( let be straight here Alistair Darling will be like a Thunderbirds puppet here - he'll do the master of lies bidding. )

Any ideas what the biggest Porkie Brownie will be ?

And also

Let not forget the smears and lies they will use the budget to tell about the opposition. What will the most outrageous of these be ? Will there be a bigger deceit and smear than Brown used to lie to the people about Conservative spending plans in 2005 ?

Google Trends "Brown Liar"

Haven't had time to watch PMQs yet - but from what I hear the Brown being economical with the Truth thing is going round again .... Google are now able top record the searches for "Brown Liar"

In the interest of fairness I used a comparison for the search term "Cameron Liar" just to get a sense of perspective.

The fourth estate is all the stands between the general public and Brown's lies

There is much praise for Phil Hammond in the Conservative blogsphere today for his appearance opposite government apologists over the 10% cuts that are programmed into the current governments financial projection, but which they refuse to admit to ( they are essentially just lying straight to people's faces ).

The Mandelson/Brown plan now looks clear. They want to run the same campaign Gordon always runs, good Labour against evil Tories who want to cut Nurses / Doctors / murder fluffy kittens etc.

To do this they need the story that the Conservatives will make cuts ( which will be 'opposed' by all those affected ) vs vague hints Labour might raises taxes peppered with examples of number involving millions that will go up over the next few years. They will talk of tough choices, but mention no specifics - except of course the ones that make up about Conservative proposals. If pushed they will try to suggest that Gordon purely pitiful raise of top tax to 50% was a tough choice, where as we all know it was a stupid choice as it will actually reduce the tax take ( except it wasn't a financial decision at all but one from the spite and bile of Brown dark heart as he reaches out to stab at his enemies regardless of the cost to the people he claims to represent ).

There are a few blocking tactics Labour can use to filibuster interviews from people who know what they are talking about in terms of the government fiances:
    1) Just talk about past 'investment' (unfocused spending on consumption to you and me that will actually reduce future spending on public services due to the debt that must be serviced).
    2) Talk about Tory cuts - as if your implying Labour might make cuts surely the Conservative ones will be greater ?
    3) Bluster with Tractor production stats.
    4) Deny the figures and claim those asking the hard questions don't understand them. Discussions on Net vs Gross, Capital spending etc etc amortisation, inflation costs - attack the "assumptions" ( unemployment rates etc etc ) meaning those figures can't be right ( but of course their own invented ones that prove monstrous Tory cuts are ).

For this tactic to work it relies on the collusion of the unofficial branch of our governing system, the Fourth Estate, The Media, or the MSM to us bloggers.

In 97 many journalists had grown up during the Thatcher years and saw it as their sacred duty to bring down the Conservative govt. Radio 4 leaked to Labour HQ, and Labour HQ told the media what to say. Everyone was loyal to the sacred "project".

Perhaps up to the war launched on a lie (Iraq) the media were in Labour's pocket. The BBC especially. After 97 Radio 4 stopped doing the sort of interview where Government minister met their opposite numbers in the studio ( after all who cared about the Tories ). If an 'opposition spokesperson ' had to be included there was always the Lib Dems - who win most of their seats from the Tories, so that all helped the Project also.

But I suspect it is no longer the case.

Last night the BBC expert commentators supported the Conservative line that government published spending plans supported the claim of a 10% cuts in departmental spending away from the NHS and overseas development.

Conservative home reports that much of the media just won't play along with Labour's lies this time. If you want to see a truly pathetic attempt to mislead the public and betray the interests of the people who elected you listen to the worm of a man Liam Byrne slim and smear his way around the simple proposition that Labour were going to have to make large cuts. [ You can listen again here 2:10 min in aprox - though the articles from 2:00 are worth listening to as they directly contradicts what Byrne says latter and show more Labour minister just lying ]

Labour have studied media interviews, and expensed the tax payers to train their ministers never to answer questions in a way that passes on any useful information.

The real question is, once the dust settles from the local and Euro elections and Brown straight lies to the camera and a room full of people who knew for a fact he was lying about wanting to keep Alistair Darling as Chancellor fade, will the media do its job or will the revert to their loyalty to the project ?

If its the latter then all that stands between our country and a conspiracy between the lies of Gordon Brown and the collusion of the MSM will be the new media.

This is going to get very nasty indeed.

See also Steve Green's The Daily Referendum post which deals with Brown's lies at PMQs on spending and refers to Fraser Nelson's article "The truth behind that 10% cut" on this subject at the Spectator Coffee house ( now is that MSM or new media I wonder ? ). Fraser is one of the journlaists who is not letting Brown's Liebour of the hook, and ideed may have started this whole debate about the 10% cuts. Intrestingly he thinks that blogging may make it much harder for Labour to get away with the lies as more people are intrested int he details that the MSM used to worry would put their mass readership off - see clip from his article below:

"Little did I imagine, when I calculated that the Tory spending parameters would involve a 10 percent cut in non-NHS departments, that it would attract such an audience. Brown repeaed it on Marr, as if it were an official Tory figure. But when Andrew Lansley mentioned it this morning as an official Tory figure then, I guess, it becomes Tory policy. A great battle ensured in PMQs: whose cuts are they? Tory cuts or Labour cuts? Real or fake? Brown loves such battles, thinking that no journalist can be bothered to go do the maths by themselves. He will be wrong here, I suspect, as the maths is pretty easy."

Full article over at the Spectator Coffee House.
See also Stephanie Flander's blog Stephanomics post today that includes the following:

"Given the Treasury's own forecasts for inflation and the IFS's forecasts for spending on social security and debt interest over the period, these new figures confirm that if you freeze the NHS and DIFD budgets in real terms from 2011-2013, other spending will see a 10% cut in real terms.

That's what Andrew Lansley should have said to the Today programme this morning, had he not tripped up on the question of spending for education and whether it was protected.

The bottom line is that the government's own numbers imply a 10% real cut in spending on other departments between 2011 and 2013, if the NHS and DIFD are protected."

Full article at Stephanomics blog here.

Credit where credit is due - Stephanie's blog post and her comments on BBC TV yesterday is the Fourth estate doing exactly what is has to do for our democracy to function. I don't believe she is sympathetic to the Conservative cause, and I'll be shocked if she has ever voted for us - but she has done her job which is to use her expertise to give the public some insight into an issue where one party is deliberately muddying the waters.

Updates:

See Wat Tyler at Burning Our Money with his post "Electors Have A Clear Choice - Truth Or Lies", and he knows what he's talking about.

Iain Dale is asking if "Tories Should Not Be Defensive About Spending Restraint" - but I think Iain is missing the point. We first have to pin Brown for lying and expose his deceit for what it is to the whole country. Only then can an honest and informed debate take place.

Dizzy has done his home work here - there's a consensus in the blogsphere developing here .

The weasel Gordon Brown on R4

Just listening to Gordon Brown being given a nice soft interview by Labour's Andrew Marr. And here are my notes.

  1. Brown mentions being in favour of a written constitution. ( I think from this he is insane enough to try and push one through now. The written bit will of course be him being in power and Conservatives never allowed to hold office ).
  2. He keeps going with the Presbyterian bullshit. He claims the credit for the background, but I have never heard him confess the faith. We know he's a liar and an oath breaker. He is so evasive that no honest person would trust him.
  3. More talk of constitutional reform - including recall elections for MPs
  4. He just keeps talking about "I" "I" "I" - he's an incredible bore.
  5. The interview just put across the things about Brown's character that people hate so much.
  6. Marr has just asked him about the next parliament being better than this one - Brown can't conceive of a next parliament. He's evasive seems to avoid thinking about the idea as he knows he would be in power in it and it seems to run into some sort of mental block.
  7. A rebadged version of the citizen's jury with a "National council for democratic renewal". Its the usual naked anti democratic socialism again.
I think the next few weeks could be very dangerous for freedom and the future of this country as Brown tries to do anything to save his skin.

My personal view is that Gordon Brown intends to try to distract the country with massive constitutional change to shamelessly take advantage of the majority he stole from Blair.

Remember this man hasn't been elected by anyone except the people of Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath who would probably elect a Donkey if it had a Labour rosette on it.

So why aren't we made as hell about Brown destroying Lloyds ?

Iain Martin has a good article about Brown's culpability for the destruction of Lloyds bank and the effective rape of its shareholders by Gordon Brown.

I recommend reading his article and asking just why isn't this the key issue in politics right now ?

See also my earlier post on why corporatism is to blame for our current crisis not free markets and capitalism as every Left wing luvie is repeating like a mantra on every broadcast they can get on - and its a lot.

The new Brownie mantra "first financial crisis of the global age"

Does he really expect anyone to buy that ? Well I guess given how badly Labour have failed in education perhaps he does.

The man is either insane or a pathological liar - or maybe both.

PS The "No clear map" comment contradicts what he's said before about doing the right thing this time, and also shows he has no idea of what will work but will sell us all into debt slavery anyway.

The real crisis is on the horizon and may be approaching fast

We are begging to become punch drunk with the series of crises that keep hitting us.

To open up we were frightened by Bird Flu and intimated by people spouting Global Warming. But we were well off and could afford to indulge ourselves.

Then came the Northern Rock fiasco and the first run on a British Bank anyone can remember in their life times. We had seen news items about the sub-prime mortgage problems in the US, but didn't realise that a very large amount of international money had been removed from the UK markets and that the government (via the Gordon Brown created FSA) had allowed Northern Rock to reply on this for their business model.

But suddenly were told the problem was that banks weren't lending to each other - it was liquidity that was the problem. This was worrying since it was quitre clear that banks wouldn't lend to each other as each of them could see the road crash of their own finances and suspected the other banks were as bad. It was also only part of the truth. Money has been removed from t he system - one estimate is £625billion by investors - mostly foreign. ( It continues to strike me as odd that this just doesn't seem to feature on much of the reporting of the crisis - of course it has appeared occasionally or else how would I have found out about it - and the Chancellor has occasionally alluded to it in some of his interviews. But he has of course never been picked up on it. )

Then the bank shares fell - and it was all the fault of those city spivs the short sellers. Everyone from Vince Cable to Alex Salmond via various Labour types, and maybe even some Conservatives - I don't remember - blamed short selling of banks. So it was outlawed, but still the share prices fell. And shortly afterwards it was shown that the short sellers had been right and that they hadn't really had enough influence to cause the crash. More smoke blown in our eyes.

In the mean time Bradford and Bingley was nationalised and sold off in part ( that part that wasn't going to lose lots of money of course ! )

Next came Gordon Brown saviour of the financial universe, firstly having some strange influence of Lloyds TSB to take over HBOS, where changes in the law were an enticement. They firing vast quantities of our futures into these companies claiming that liquidity would return and borrowing would be back at 2007 levels. It hasn't and it isn't.

In the mean time Brown destroys an Icelandic bank in a day and smears its people as terrorists by using anti-terror legislation to freeze assets. But then, after making an enemy of the entire Icelandic nation and almost letting the Russians control the North Atlantic has to issue large loans to Iceland - so that local authorities can get their our money back.

Now Brown and Darling have decided that only a "Fiscal Stimulus" will save the day. That means even more borrowing than we already will have to do to maintain levels of spending to buy Labour the next election with tax revenues falling of a cliff.

But that's running into problems as whose going to lend money to a country that is increasingly looking like having no way to pay the bills for its expensive life style ( see public sector spending splurge and unaffordable public sector pensions ). Brown hopes to con other countries with savings to spending the money to help bail us out - he's at the G20 meeting trying to pull this off now. But it is doomed to fail.

Now the real wave of the recession is starting to hit. Companies are making ever increasingly large layoffs. Tax take is down, social security payments are up.

Gordon Brown is lying straight to peoples faces about national debt by excluding things that must be paid back, but that he's got off balance sheet in a wheeze of the type he was righteously condemning the banks for.

Thanks to the BBC Labour's poll ratings have been picking up - but it now relies on more than the electorate for the future by the owners of that £625billion I mentioned at the start. And the markets are saying sell UK plc. The pound is in a tailspin. There are two likely outcomes:

1) The money comes back but thanks to the falling exchange rate and falling shares vast amounts of our real economy will pass further into foreign ownership, leaving us paying dividends abroad for decades to come. Government debt will eventually have to mean far higher taxes - but only after Labour has secured another election - or as vengeance against the Conservatives who are having the country wrecked and ruined before their election.
2) The money doesn't come back and the country heads the way of Zimbabwe / Argentina.

The really frightening part of this tragedy is yet to come.

The reason things get worse rather than better - or even that the necessary measures that will be painful but must be taken haven't started is the Labour party. They have grown used to the patronage of being in power - the MPs salaries that few of their people could ever earn in the real world, the gold plated pensions, the power.

A whole new generation are to be taught the lesson on the 1970s of how Labour speak about helping people and generating jobs, but really just serve themselves and destroy the economy and spread poverty unemployment of economic disaster. ( Some of the hard left even desire these outcomes - and many current government ministers were members of that hard left in their youth.)

They are scum whose only thought is how to adjust the "narrative" to give themselves a few more days in power and the gravy flowing ( See Lord Mandymort and Sir Labour's favourite policeman £400k golden goodbye - even though he resigned ). And their BBC/Guardian co travellers are no better.

Right - glad to have got that off my chest ....

Update: See also Charles Moore in Saturday's Telegraph who makes some similar points.

What's a Brownie then ?

Is it a sort of chocolate flavoured cake ? Or a mini- girl guide ? Well of course both are true, but from now on its also the name for the lies and misleading statements that Gordon Brown tells people to their faces thanks to Fraser Nelson over at the Coffee house.

Fraser picks up on a number of the untruths Brown spouted in his speech, some of which I've spotted and other will have spotted also.

This key thing is what does this tell us about the man ?

Its quite simple - he's unfit to hold public office.
H/T in passing to Iain Dale's diary's daily blog summary for the link to Fraser's post.

Update:
Look s like David Cameron's going for Brown on his ability to be truthful also. Quite right

Brown has just made the mistake of mentioning the 3 million new jobs

About 81% of which went to immigrants !!

Does nobody advise him ? He's gone mad !!

Update:
Now the idiot is mentioning social mobility - which has gone down under Labour. There just can't be anyone who dares tell him what utter rubbish he's spouting.

Now he just announced the destruction of the child care businesses such as nurseries - the pioneer youth centre will take over - onward to victory Airship one. Tractor production up.

He's doing a Queens speech now ...

He's also trying to bind the actions of a future parliament by a law on child poverty - which is illegal. ( By the way they've tried that ploy before with another law they are just about to break ).

The next bit is amazing in its insensitivity. He's trying to cash in on his hard luck story about nearly going blind - but forgets that his anti-English government condemns many English people to the same fate. But not for the Scots of course.

Note: David Miliband only mentioned with wee Dougie Alexander and von Brun himself.

He talking about not standing by as children suffer - so whats happening in Darfur then eh Brown ! ( You'll remember his grandstanding on this issue about a year ago at the UN ).

Conservative home reports on the FT outlining more Brown misrepresentations and lies here.

My family aren't props

Brown has just laid into Cameron, during a fairly dull speech, by implication saying he won't use his kids and family as props. Well whats this above then ?

Sums him up - a Liar and a phoney.

Shameless, truth less, hopeless, without principle - Gordon Brown.

Brown claims he wakes up every morning thinking of how he can help those looking for mortgages !

Just heard that quote of radio 4's PM program.

Frankly its the most implausible bit of spin I've ever heard. I thought Brown was using tax payer's money (ie my money) to employ lots of expensive spin merchants to make this sort of thing at least sound plausible.

So there's a poll over on the left right to get your reaction.

Personally I think this statement stretches credulity to the point that the sanity of the man making it and his ability to understand anything about the thought processes of others has to be called into question.

Blair would have know what to say - content nothing, but with style.

Update: Clearly the waking up in the morning thing has been a bit a theme with Gordon - see the quotes Iain Dale has dug up.

Google: "Gordon Brown Liar"

Just checking what traffic was floating by and I notice one visitor on the Google search "Gordon Brown Liar".

I was therefore most gratified to find a link back to this blog on the first page ( only Tim Worstall and Newport blog did better on the blogging front ).

So my challenge for today to you all is to knock me of that perch with posts of your own - you know you want to !

Note: Google can display search results biased to an individual - I've tried to log out etc to get a neutral picture, but perhaps I've made a mistake. Anyway its a worthy cause as Brown has told some real porkies recently - like about Boris Johnson plans for police or Conservative spending plans at the 2005 election.
