Brown - the Downfall

I've been re-reading Antony Beevor's "Berlin - the downfall", and I'm looking forward to his account of D-Day especially if there's an electronic book version.

Many, many people have likened the Brown regime to the self deluded National Socialist regime in Berlin 1945. It an analogy that chimes, and I think Labour have had a few attempts at trying to shrug of the association. But those eager people on Youtube keep turning out "Downfall" (the German film) versions with Brown as the ranting Fuhrer.

The term bunker mentality is continually used about No10, and its the bunker in 1945 Berlin that people have in mind when they use that term.


We know that Brown has these rages ( just check the requisitions for Nokias ). We also know he lives in a fantasy land where he believes that propaganda (now known as spin) makes reality.

In the book one by one the grotesque figures of the Third Reich betray their Fuhrer, or are deemed to have done so.

Now we have Jacqui Smith going, Darling getting ready for the firing squad and Brown's most loyal henchman Balls getting ready for his reward for serving his master. Someone is briefing against the Brown camp very close to his inner circle. Labour MPs are looking for their Stauffenbergto deliver them from destruction and the hands of the blue horde that has risen in anger at the willful financial, moral and social destruction wreaked on this land by Labour and its minions.

Brown's downfall it seems must be close, after all what choice does Labour have. The Tories are at the Oder with overwhelming forces - but will Brown, like Hitler, demand that everything is destroyed first before a disaster worthy of marking his end is inflicted on this United Kingdom? (which like many deranged bigots in the Labour party he assumes is synonymous with the party - just as Hitler thought of National Socialism and Germany).

Update: It certainly feels like the end now. David Cameron was clearly pulling his punches at PMQs, but in a clever way ( asking the questions Brown could be expected to have a prepared answer for ).

The Guardian is calling for him to go, and talking about the infamous "bunker".

Steve Green's The Daily referendum is pointing out that a petition to get rid of Brown has somehow made its way through the No 10 site vetting procedure ( whoever did that may want to duck from the flying mobile phone heading their way soon ).

Beer and sandwiches

Beer and sandwiches round at No 10 today for the brothers in the trade union movement who are looking to ensure British Industry goes back to the 70's along with the rest of Gordon Brown's government. ( They want to make temporary work illegal - which is ta way of protecting those in work by discriminating against those looking for it and reducing the efficiency of the economy and lowering employment ).

I wonder if the Labour party's conic debts will come up during the conversation as the brothers tell Gordon what to do ? Perhaps Alistair Darling will want to nationalise the Labour party ? ;-)

How to deflect the truth

The following is a question from the new No 10 Mc'A' level qualification that is deemed to have equivalence to a nobel prize and PhD in Physics according to Ed Balls and co:

National No10 communications exam - sample paper:

Person A sends a letter to person B.
Person B ignores the letter and throws it away saying "I'm not bloody answering that or taking any notice of Tories" - as usual. ( Candidates are reminded this is a hypothetical question - and you can't prove otherwise . )

Question:Later a scandal emerges and it turns out that A says they warned B about that scandal. How can B deny it yet stay within the bounds of the truth ?

Model answer:
Downing Street says it has no evidence that the PM received a letter from the Conservative Party warning that an MP's conversations may have been bugged.

But anything that calls into question whether the letter was sent and implies it was never read - without actually saying so - will receive full marks.

Those who attempt the A Campbell gambit of attacking the letter writer and smearing them will receive half marks for effort.

No marks will be awarded for saying "Yeah we got that but as usual Gordon ignores everything Tories say, unless its a policy he needs to steal to stay in power."

Are we heading for another Hutton Report moment ?

Quite a few right of centre commentators, including bloggers, suspect No10 as being behind the leaked email - no don't say that it implies someone read it document. If not them then someone else who stands to gain by the inquiry being undermined.

Man in a Shed didn't believe it was No 10 - mostly down to the fact it failed to come out first time. They would know the BBC would check the story with the police and the police would act. But now the Guardian ( the leftwingers favourite rag) published it before asking for permission and a judge said well go on then.

So its out there, and the major beneficiaries will be those wishing to avoid a trial and prevent justice from being done.

This feels like just before the Hutton inquiry when we all thought surely they can't get away with it this time ! Well they did - and to rub salt into the wounds of justice Cherie Blair signed copies of the report for auction for Labour party funds. This is the sort of people they are.

I'm going to revise my opinion now - nothing is beneath these people.

By the way this is also starting to look like a house of cards and remeber what happened to FU on his length in office anniversary ....
