Europe - part 2

So the news is just in, Vaclav Claus has signed the EU constitution and the conspirators of the European Union have pulled of the greatest anti-democratic coup since Hitler had the Reichestag burnt down.

We have been cynically sold out by Labour who lied on their election manifesto and have insulted peoples intelligence with the weasel words on the Lisbon Treaty being something different. And let us never forget this treachery and the traitors ( specifically Miliband and Brown who sold England out for their own personal reasons ).

Those who voted Lib Dem have been betrayed as Nick Clegg found a formula that allowed him to do what he wanted to do anyway, just without his party telling people they would do it in 2005.

So finally its time to see David Cameron's hand. ( And lets pause for a moment to consider what our democracy has come to when the views of any political leader count more than the principles of their party or the manifestos they stood on. Are we really a functioning democracy at all ? )

The hints and leaks are that David Cameron will announce that there will be no referendum on the Lisbon Treaty but that there will be a manifesto commitment to repatriate some powers.


So what to think and what to do ?


I've mentioned in comments elsewhere that in my nightmares Peter Hitchens is right and the current Conservative party and especially its leader are not really Conservatives at all. What's coming up is one of those litmus tests of this concern.

But I'm not quite ready to let it dominate my waking hours yet, although I have to acknowledge the possibility it may be the case.

Like many Conservatives the thought of sending the party card in cut up pieces back to CCHQ has crossed my mind today - and I know from conversations that I'm not the only one.

But there is a fundamental calculation that has to be made. Does the next election matter more than starting down the long road to a greater change in our political system by embracing a minor party that is Eurosceptic, knowing that in the short term this will just help Gordon Brown and if we do too much of that then there will be no long term UK future.

Such a course of action is a project in terms of decades, during which time we will be vacating political ground to the left ( unless AV PR comes in ).

Add to that the utter desperation of the current financial status of our country and the accelerating attempts to put the jack boot of authoritarian socialism on the country's wind pipe by the likes of Brown, Balls & Mandelson ( and the stiletto of Harman ) and its time to start thinking of getting your ducks in a row.

I would therefore suggest the appropriate plan of action for those not committed to the surrender of their country to a foreign power or its economic destruction and enslavement by socialism is as follows:

1) Defeat Labour at the next election, and if necessary pipe down to ensure it happens.
2) Hold Cameron and Hague's feet to the fire of ensuring the UK's survival as a sovereign state over the next 5 years.
3) Rebellion and insurrection as necessary if 2 fails, but only after 1 has been dealt with.

David Cameron is announcing the new line at 4pm tomorrow today. I guess he didn't want to have it played over in PMQs. David Cameron has turned our party around as a political force ( though perhaps Michael Howard started the process ), and has delivered on the EPP - the the fury of the Euro Imperialists - so all hope is not lost.

And if hope fails - then will come rebellion.

The United Kingdom Sovereignty Bill (2010) - solution to the Lisbon ratified issue

The BBC are repeating their 2005 line with immigration in every interview right now, except its the Lisbon Constitution ( obligatory reminder here of how Labour sold the country out and lied in their 2005 manifesto due to the cowardice of the leadership and preference for deceiving people and distorting the truth instead of holding a referendum. Lets never forget Labour were the traitors and the liars who sold their country out.)

However the what to do if the Poles and Czechs can't hold out is still a very real question. ( Though perhaps the BBC should note that it is one that would be answered in a Conservative manifesto once the election is called and unlike Labour we would stick to it ).

So here's my answer, which borrows a little from ideas I heard before from other Conservative politicians.

Her Majesty's Government (and won't it be great to hear those words again after all the years of Labour's stealth republicanism ) should bring forward a bill which will declare that UK sovereignty as invested by our sovereign in the UK Parliament can never be permanently transferred to other bodies without a referendum and then only for a period of 15 years after which such permission will need to be renewed. ( This would force a referendum on EU membership, NATO membership, maybe even the UN every 15 years ).

Shorter term agreements would only remain legally enforceable whilst the Parliament that had voted to lend the sovereignty was sitting and would expire automatically every general election.

Labour have sort to sell out out country on the sly, and no government of any political complexion should ever be allowed to use it temporary authority in such a way again.

That would make the subject of a great referendum !

Tetchy Euro-Federalists ? Dan's the man to wind them up further

Read this on The First Post by Daniel Hannan. I think that the key point is the federalists can see their project is in danger of unravelling and their support will decline with time.

So they are desperate, and desperate people act as despots not democrats.

This is going to get much more dangerous before it gets better.

Dustin to tell EU to **** off

Not that they will accept that answer....

Update: As expected the EU is going to carry on anyway. They will learn their lesson from this - never allow any people to be asked again. Gordon Brown isn't going to let the will of the people, any people get in the way of his personal career. The same can be said of the EU.

Will Eurovision kill the EU ?

Watching the Eurovision song contest has now become like wondering who will win the next Russian election for President. The answer has already been determined before the thing starts. How come - well there is just so much or Eastern Europe and its various hangers on that the old Eurovision nations, from the west, don't have a hope.

The Irish entered a Turkey which was shot in the semi-final. The UK managed last place also in the main event ( avoiding the semi by paying for the event).

As more and more countries have entered Eurovision the centre of power has moved east.

Thanks to the Lisbon Treaty ( less vetos - less individual more mob sovereity ) the same is now true of the EU.

I wonder if the Irish have spotted the problem with letting the Lisbon Treaty through ? Its not just the loss of sovereignty, but where they have lost it to.

In the UK Gordon Brown has betrayed the British people by breaking his manifesto promise for a referendum - its the sort of snivelling coward of a man he really is.

But I wonder if the Irish might be wondering if their turkey really should vote for Christmas in the EU Referendum, remembering what has happened to the song contest.

Lib Dem peers to sell the UK down the river

So the betrayal is in. The Lib Dems having stood on a general election manifesto promise of allowing the voters to decide on the EU Constitution, are going to vote in exactly the other direction.

Their justification for this betrayal of their country and their word ?

Lord McNally, Lib Dem leader in the Lords, said he would not fall into "elephant traps" set by the Tories. - the BBC reports

So its tactical politics trumps the existence of the current UK state ? The Lib Dems are the worst, and completely devoid of principle, opportunists in politics.

Nick Clegg is right to emphasis the Liberal in Lib Dem because they are no longer democrats. One day it is my sincerest hope that these quislings and oath breakers will pay the price of their betrayal of the peoples trust.

By the way the same applies to the Labour peers and the likes of Lord Brittan.

Nick Clegg: The deceit and the conceit

Nick Clegg adopted Ming's ploy to deceive the British electorate by asking for a referendum on being a member of the EU.

It allows shallow Lib Dems (by no means all of them) to claim I want a referendum - just not the one which they promised ....

Nick Clegg was on Radio 4's Today programme this morning trying to call black white. He clearly learnt a little from his humiliation on Newsnight last night where the pure conceit of his position was laid out for him. He tried - and because he wasn't a Conservative - was allowed to talk out the time allocated. ( This was clearly his intention as at one point he even mentioned there's not much time left so let me explain .... Meaning if I talk long enough you won't have a chance to expose my rank hypocrisy any more ).

Newsnight gave him a rougher ride. Working on these lines - So the Lib Dems are being ordered to break their election promise and not vote one a proposal for a referendum on the EU Constitution ( which is what it really is ). That after the manifactured rage about not getting their own measure through - the only reason for which is the naked politics of trying to deceive their electorates that they "wanted a referendum".

The public can see this rank hypocrisy and deceit for what it is, and whilst some Lib Dems may not be able to break their word and will vote with the Conservatives today, the public have seen their party for what its is: dishonest, unreliable, hypocritical and deceitful.

It is also a party that's policies are dismantling the United Kingdom and handing its people over to an alien state where they will always be a small minority and from whom they may never recover their freedom.

In the short term Lib Dem MPs can expect to be rewarded not with 20 pieces of silver (the going rate for this sort of betrayal) but with P45s.

Update: Iain Dale watched Newsnight also and thought :

"I defy anyone to watch last night's Newsnight interview with Nick Clegg and tell me they think the Lib Dem position on an EU Referendum is anything other than a fiasco. Watch it for yourself HERE. It's about 15 minutes in."

Guido picks up on the discipline hole Nick Clegg has dug himself - there are shades of William Hague and his then leader of the house of Lords about this. In particular the elephant trap Paxo offered Clegg on if he'd asked for Lib Dem front bench resignations if they didn't refuse to vote as he told them to. Clegg's answer where evasive and paxman repeated the question to try to gain clarity. If in fact Clegg has asked for these letters then his credibility with his own MPs will have been destroyed by this interview.

Norfolk Blogger - whom Iain Dale quotes - deserves much credit for calling it the way he see's it - even though he's currently a Lib Dem. If more people interested in politics refused to be dragged along by party loyalty and spin when something that really matters comes up then perhaps the people's faith in politics could be restored. Well done Nich.

Labour's distain for democracy

Labour hate democracy, as when it comes down to it they hate choice. They hate the idea that you might make up your own mind. They hate the idea that some people make better choices than others - all must be dammed as that is only fair.

When Gordon Brown talks about opportunity its as fake as the blue background he's trying to deceive people with at his don't mention England spring conference.

The whole point of socialism, of the type that Brown has grown up promoting his whole life, is that the people are unfit to decide. Hence democracy is highly undesirable.

So there is little hope of the Labour leadership listening to the people scream they want and demand a referendum. Gordon Brown believes he knows best and we are all unfit to decide for ourselves.

He is the most striking example of the conceit of left wing politics in the UK today. ( Just look at the way his barrister used the "you should have known we were lying" defence to opposed those who think Labour should honour its election manifesto).

They are without honour as they believe we, the people of England, are without worth. They as shameless as they are conceited.

No wonder the likes of Harriet I'm the token Woman Harman admire Castro so much.

What you are not meant to see in the EU - dissent.

Brown goes to Lisbon to break his promise and sell Britain out

Posting going slow today due to an bad attack of Man flu. However I couldn't let the lowest and most despicable part of Gordon Brown's premiership go without comment.

Signing the EU Constitution ( no one - and I mean non one - believes it is anything else. They may say other things - but that's New Labour spin - known to the rest of us as lying.)

Gordon - you will have to hang your head in shame for the rest of your life for this - oath breaker ..

The Conservative party should support referendums on independence

I believe it is a mistake for the Unionists to try to deny the referendum on Scottish independence that the SNP say they are seeking.

Since consent should be at the heart of the United Kingdom, it is not pro-independence to affirm it. It actually damages the UK in the long term to be seen to be running away from it. ( They same applies for our relationship with the EU - as Ming Campbell to his credit finally realised.)

The Conservative party should promise referendums on the following:

1) Membership of the UK for each constituent nation, with a new federated constitution between the nations being offered.
2) Membership of the EU. ( If anyone leaves the UK then they can sort out 1) for themselves).

It should be understood that these referendums will be final for the next 50 years - and laws passed to ensure this.

They should take place about 2 years after the next general election to give full time for debate to develop.

These are not measures we should hide from. What we need to avoid is the exam retake options that Quebec keeps trying. These issues should be settled.

Red lines secure for "the time being" !!!!! - Jose Manuel Barroso

Apparently Jose Manuel Barroso has said this on Radio 4 this morning as reported by the press association.

He goes on to say the opt outs would remain in place "until Britain changes its mind".

As we know Britain will be made to change its mind.

The only chance we have to avoid this future is to veto the treaty.


Gordon Brown is just a liar who is selling out the future of our country for his own selfish ambition. I hope Labour MPs have some guts and love of country and will help us stop this.

The Lib Dems are too busy grovelling to Brown in the hope of a few crumbs from his table to be of any use ( they will of course campaign against aspects of the EU in the South West and other palces to get their jobs - but don't expect principles from the Janus party. )

Stand against Gordon's broken promise

So where are our democratic and traditional rights then Mr Brown ?

As Gordon Brown starts spinning that he's reigning in the Unions ( yeh - right) the Irish are getting a referendum on the continuing dissolution of their state into the European Union.

In the UK we are getting no vote on our state being sacrificed on the bonfire of Tony Blair's legacy or having Gordon Brown appointed to a party that is too timid to put up two candidates for election as leader.

So what's it to be Gordon ?

My position on the EU is changing

When I was young I was an enthusiast for the ECC. Free trade and a counter balance to the US all seemed like good ideas.

Whilst I might have wanted to slow down changes - I always saw the advantage to Britain of being a member.

The free and open market was the key prize - but the French have made clear its days are numbered. There is also the point of gaining influence and the old English foreign policy imperative that a power should never be allowed to emerge in Europe that could dominate the UK.

But now no more - it seems that we can't stop the march to ever closer union and we will not be asked. Politicians put their next 5 years in office ahead of over almost a thousand years of history. They can no longer be trusted - and I don't just include Labour in this.

Politics in the UK has no point - no point at all - if it is unable to achieve anything and we have ceded power over our country to a foreign power.

Better of out - now gets my vote ( but will anyone be willing to ask ? Or with electronic voting fraud will it be counted ? )

Blair's conflicts of interest

Tony Blair's ego is on its last week in office. But there's still damage to be done in Europe - remember how much we are all now paying as Blair caved into Chirac over the so called "British Cheque" - with nothing in return. We've had the usual tough talking spin from Labour - that we know always proceeds a sell out.

Blair says he won't come home with anything that needs a referendum - we'll there's a self for filling prophecy then. There is just no good reason for Gordon Brown not to be negotiating - unless he's unfit for office, in which case Labour have been misleading us just as badly as the Lib Dems did over Charles Kennedy.

Now we also see that the US would like to employ him he'll need paying he's got those massive mortgages to service (its not exactly clear who will pay the bills - but its the US idea, so we can expect it serve their interests). Can you imagine a US ex-President being happy to be in the pay of a foreign power after leaving office ? You have to wonder why they feel so obliged to him ?

As always the husk of a party - the Labour party - fails to hold is Presidential style leader to account. Can you imagine the fuss from the Labour party, Lib Dems, BBC, Guardian and Independent if it was a Conservative leader doing these things ?

But in the end its the life long cost of Blair's compromises for his ego in Europe that worry me the most. Maybe the US will pay him 30 pieces for silver for its work in the middle east - I hear that's the going rate.

Update: There are rumours that Tony Blair is about to leave Anglicanism and convert to Catholicism - just after helping to create the federal Europe the Catholic church has wanted.
