BBC makes Freudian slip with its beloved Hockey graph

Oh dear - the warmist fanatics over at the over staffed BBC are have a bit of excessive excitement again.

Today's link on their web site has the now famously discredited Hockey stick graph back in full view.
( They know that many people will just see the graph and not bother or understand they are being decieved by the BBC again. )

Compare and contrast the icon used below with the BBC's archive reporting on the false Hockey Stick here. ( The article itself refers to a paper that hasn't yet finished peer review and has signifcant revisons required of it, but since green propaganda doesn't wait for such scientific niceties its being publicised in a coordinated coup anyway ).

The Economist brands Brown's budget dishonest

I have long read and enjoyed the Economist and have been a subscriber for over two decades, even though it is the voice of the continuing SDP.

But I have noticed over the last day the sound of the patience of many on the soft SDP / New Labour groupie left snapping with this budget. ( The Economist doesn't even pretend to ascribe the budget to the hapless Alistair Darling ). I saw Janet Street Porter on "This Week" clearly still in shock as the real implications of Labour mismanagement and destruction of our economy have been sinking in since the budget. Grey Dyke, always an outrider for the Labour project, tried some guff about US capitalism but nobodies going to buy that excuse.

But oh the strength of the words from the economist. They have called the budget dishonest in their leader. They details the deceptions and political tactical decisions Brown has made at the expense of the country.


This weeks UK edition has the strap line "Desperate Measures" on the front and its leader finished with these words "The public is losing patience with him, and so is this newspaper".

Its time for those in Labour to admit they are not up to the job and resign and let those who could save our country try.

Update: It seems there's a petition ont he No10 web site to get Brown out. Sounds like a worth cause to me ! Go here.....

Nick Clegg: The deceit and the conceit

Nick Clegg adopted Ming's ploy to deceive the British electorate by asking for a referendum on being a member of the EU.

It allows shallow Lib Dems (by no means all of them) to claim I want a referendum - just not the one which they promised ....

Nick Clegg was on Radio 4's Today programme this morning trying to call black white. He clearly learnt a little from his humiliation on Newsnight last night where the pure conceit of his position was laid out for him. He tried - and because he wasn't a Conservative - was allowed to talk out the time allocated. ( This was clearly his intention as at one point he even mentioned there's not much time left so let me explain .... Meaning if I talk long enough you won't have a chance to expose my rank hypocrisy any more ).

Newsnight gave him a rougher ride. Working on these lines - So the Lib Dems are being ordered to break their election promise and not vote one a proposal for a referendum on the EU Constitution ( which is what it really is ). That after the manifactured rage about not getting their own measure through - the only reason for which is the naked politics of trying to deceive their electorates that they "wanted a referendum".

The public can see this rank hypocrisy and deceit for what it is, and whilst some Lib Dems may not be able to break their word and will vote with the Conservatives today, the public have seen their party for what its is: dishonest, unreliable, hypocritical and deceitful.

It is also a party that's policies are dismantling the United Kingdom and handing its people over to an alien state where they will always be a small minority and from whom they may never recover their freedom.

In the short term Lib Dem MPs can expect to be rewarded not with 20 pieces of silver (the going rate for this sort of betrayal) but with P45s.

Update: Iain Dale watched Newsnight also and thought :

"I defy anyone to watch last night's Newsnight interview with Nick Clegg and tell me they think the Lib Dem position on an EU Referendum is anything other than a fiasco. Watch it for yourself HERE. It's about 15 minutes in."

Guido picks up on the discipline hole Nick Clegg has dug himself - there are shades of William Hague and his then leader of the house of Lords about this. In particular the elephant trap Paxo offered Clegg on if he'd asked for Lib Dem front bench resignations if they didn't refuse to vote as he told them to. Clegg's answer where evasive and paxman repeated the question to try to gain clarity. If in fact Clegg has asked for these letters then his credibility with his own MPs will have been destroyed by this interview.

Norfolk Blogger - whom Iain Dale quotes - deserves much credit for calling it the way he see's it - even though he's currently a Lib Dem. If more people interested in politics refused to be dragged along by party loyalty and spin when something that really matters comes up then perhaps the people's faith in politics could be restored. Well done Nich.

A plot to deceive the Labour party ?

As I was driving to school this morning i heard an excellent bit of analysis by Nick Robinson on Radio 4's Today programme. What made it so good was its simplicity. ( Jack Straw was on afterwards and did his best to muddy the waters - you know the usual stuff - talking for a long time. Denying allegations that have never been made, changing the subject etc etc - but the damage had been done. )

So what did Nick say ? In short that - cash for peerages and the constellation of funding scandals that are flying in close formation and Guido is now calling Donorgate ( not sure about that one myself ) - all the scandals are about concelling the origin of donations that would otherwise be legal.

Man in a Shed wondered from whom are these donations being kept secret from ? Not the floating voter or middle England - one of the effective ploys used by New Labour has been the "Business supports us now" line they have tried to project. Wealthy people donating to the Labour party is actually good electorally for them ! If they had declared these doantions, and not tried to hide their origin and in some cases pretend they are loans their popularity was not at risk !

So who needs to be deceived ?

The answer must be that the aim has been to deceive the Labour party itself.

This is all about pulling the wool over the eyes of their gullible membership.

In time I think they may come to realise it and start to use the few levers of power they have left ( if they have any at all ) to demand reform.

This is the second phase to these scandals - potentially the reassertion of the Labour party grass roots. However Man in a Shed is not convinced they have it in them. Unlike the Conservative party which will pull any leader up fast who goes beyond what is acceptable I think the Labour party has become too supine. Perhaps its the inherent intellectual dishonesty of supporting socialism when it has been proven to fail is part of this.


Update: Jack Straw's disinformation tactics pay off - look at this headline from the ever helpful BBC !Straw gets his moral outrage going defending something that isn't yet the point. It allows him to define the question and then answer it. Meaning that some thing very similar may be true, but he can do all the strong denial stuff knowing that he won't have to go back on it.
