Vacant RedEd spots a bandwagon to jump on

Lets remember that Labour introduced tuition fees ( and they were always going to go up, the initial level was the level they thought they could get away with ).

Now feckless #RedEd has spotted a bandwagon to take his blank piece of paper on to try a shamelessly grovel for votes from naive middle class teenagers and students.

But even the feckless RedEd can't avoid the fact that Labour destroyed the country's finances and "there's no money left". So RedEd, when he's not actively considering perhaps saying something, maybe to the students, admits there would have to be something like a graduate tax.

Frankly there would be virtually no difference.

The questions are will RedEd get the jumping on bandwagon flack any Tory would get in these circumstances ? And will any one point out the plank in Labour's own eye on this ?

And anyway isn't it time someone told the children that things have to be paid for, and by the way the grown ups have taken out a stupendous loan in their name which they will have to pay back for the national debt that will make tuition fees look like a picnic !

We have grown used to the lies and nothing can shock us any more

I'm alarmed by the current Iraq inquiry.

Not because the emerging confirmation of what most of us believed to be true anyway - that the Iraq war was about regime claim and the WMD claims were false and that only the parlour game of denials etc from Blair and Labour prevented that getting in the open -but because I can hardly raise myself to condemn it.

NHS hospitals, rated "good", are killing their patients by the sort of neglect Florence Nightingale set out to correct. ( That that's before we get into the state sanctioned execution protocols for the elderly and weak - see Liverpool pathway. We are a society that recoils from the death penalty for the most heinous monsters, but is happy for Granny to be staved to death as long as it has the work protocol before it. )

How weary we have become of the lies, spin and deceit.

How little hope we have that anything will ever be done.

Does anyone think Blair and his cabinet (including Brown) will stand trial for Iraq ?

This is what Labour have reduced us to. A country that no longer expects honesty backed by the threat of justice or even the rule of its own laws.

A country where an unelected prime minister signs away our sovereignty without even asking us as he promised to do in the Labour manifesto.

Britain's again the sick man of Europe - and England is locked up in the cellar, and our malady has many different forms. But the cause has been the immorality of the Labour party.

Baroness Scotland is proof that for Labour ...

• There is one rule for the plebs - and another for Labour ministers.
• Labour have no shame at all.
• Gordon Brown has no judgement.

It is only Brown's complete moral failure and weakness combined with his sense of self entitlement and arrogance that stops his doing his job as Prime Minister, upholding the honour of the country and sacking Baroness Scotland.

Labour shameless, gutless, and utterly useless.

Labour's mean bullying smear machine has gone demented

Apparently they are still on for attempting to undermine the credibility of retired General Sir Richard Dannatt, even after the rouse has been completely exposed. ( Perhaps they couldn't unask the parliamentary questions once they submitted them ).

I guess its just in their nasty nature.

How the left frame the debate

You can see the same thing being done with anyone who questions the NHS and its outcomes.

The problem I have with the left is they see politics the same way a holigan sees football - as a great chance for a fight.

They don't care what happens, as long as they win. Hence they're just not intrested in the dicussion and learning something - just winning the deabte using their bully heavy handed tactics.

These have been misfiring for the Labour party recently as I've commented on Conservative home. But still Labour still have their heads stuck in the sand.

I have to conclude that many of them just don't understand or are too selfish to admit to the obvious failure of the last 12 years. ( Maybe a few are hardened revolutionaries who are trying to drag us all down so that their beloved revolution and its inevitable terror can come about ).

The establishment is trying to warn us about our current plight

Sometimes its too easy to rant about civil servants and the establishment, especially when they are quiet despite challenges which are a very clear and present threat to our country.

But I have noted a number of attempts by those who serve us, or did so, and are often beholden to the current government to warn us, or prepare on the quiet for the disaster when Gordon Brown debt time bomb goes off. Here are a few I've spotted floating by recently:

1. NHS Trusts currently planning for a 5% cut.
2. Civil servants secretly preparing plans for a 20% cut in departmental budgets.
3. Meryn King's warning about "Fiscal Stimulus" and more recently about plans to reduce the debt.
4. The failure of that gilts auction, that now has the bank of England printing money to fund the government.
5. John Major warning about VAT at 20% and a 5p raise in basic income tax ( whilst dismissing the Labour myth that just the rich can be taxed to cover things ).

There is a common message emerging to both parties that more radical action that is being currently openly discussed will be necessary.

This puts the dishonesty of Gordon Brown in talking about raising public spending into its correct perspective.

PS I wonder if the 20% doom's day plan isn't needed to be able to act intelligently to a rapid funding crisis, which must now be a real fear. You can see the scene - the government is unable to sell any more debt and is on the verge or actually becomes insolvent. The IMF steam in ( if we're lucky and they have enough money left ) and demand large cuts tomorrow. At least a plan would exist so the brutal surgery didn't cut too many arteries of the country. However perhaps the reported planning may be more extreme than necessary to force some sort of prioritisation out of each department and to avoid the fake efficiency savings and accountancy tricks being put forward to the Treasury.

Ed Balls takes the voters for fools

I've just heard Ed Balls on Radio 4's The World at One.

And it was an almost unbelievable performance, except our expectations have been lowered so much by the pond life moral standards of this Labour government.

Presented with the simple proposition that Labour's own figures showed they were going to have to make large cuts, most likely in Education, Balls kept banging on about a misuse of taxpayers money he had cooked up to try and make the Michael Gove look bad.

Balls, a real thug amongst politicians that he is, always interrupted Mr Gove and I'm afraid Martha just couldn't hold the ring with him - letting him off her first and key question.

But worse of all was Ball's misuse of language to mislead, obscure and misdirect the listener. When the show is put up on listen again and I have a few minutes I'll put some of it up here.

Fraser Nelson warned us a few days ago that Labour's plans for the general election were to just keep lying all the time - even when they were found out. He wasn't wrong.

Summing up on The World at One 15 Jun 09 ( Martha is speaking live before a recording of Ed Ball's comment made earlier in the program ).

Martha Kearney "The schools secretary has defended plans for funding schools Ed Balls and has Denied that Labour would also have to cut spending"

Ed Balls - "I won't admit that. Of course there are going to have to be tough choices, of course we are going to have to be more efficient. What I said today is it will depend on what happens to the economy and to unemployment and debt interest, but I that with tough choices we can see real rise in the schools budget and the NHS budget in future years."

Just look at the words Ed Balls has used. Marta says he's denied Labour will cut education, but that's not what Mr Balls said - though he said it in a way that easily leads to that mistake ( ie very misleading ).

Remember Balls is trying to deny the Labour budget. What do these "tough choices" mean ? They are of course money being spent in one place and not another - and that boys and girls - is mostly going to mean cuts.

The caveats he uses are his get out clause on the cost of unemployment and the cost of debt ( yes that's interesting - Labour are perhaps more worried about their ability to run up the nations debts on the elect Gordon campaign than they admit - a bit of a Freudian slip there perhaps ). Of course these have commonly accepted assumptions, with inflation and welfare costs also, which give just the figures that result in the 7% real terms cut in departmental budgets that Labour are trying not to admit - but the rest of the country know are the most likely outcome ( from of course reading Labour's own budget ).

Then the most disgusting weasel bit of Ed Balls' words - the vague promise that schools budgets and NHS will rise in "future years". Which exactly ? Could be 2050, 2200, when pigs fly ?

What we have is a statement that is the very opposite of what an honourable man would give if he was honestly trying to inform people about his policies.

But then Labour aren't honourable at all. ( See this from Iain Dale about the vile smearing that Hattie Harman is trying on to drag more peoples money back to help the bankrupt Labour party).

There is no plan any time soon to be honest with the people of the country by Labour. Instead they intend to try the dirty tactics that Brown used in 2005. There are rumours that Damian McBride is out there working for Labour. ( So yet another example of the complete fecklessness of Gordon Brown and the Labour party about their faked outrage over the smeargate scandal and Gordon taking tough measures "because he's very angry about this ").

Labour are now clearly an amoral party that either just couldn't tell the truth if it tried or has entered a pact with the devil to lie in exchange for power and a few more years as parasites of the taxpayers of this country.

Update note: Thats starting to look like a key observation. Guido reports that banks are having to be paid to desperately try to sell government debt - bypassing the Debt Management Office Gordon Brown set up ! Perhaps the key moment of the crisis isn't far away. ( If so I would expect Labour to call a general election first as that might stablise the debt sale problem with the markets thinking a Conservative government is coming in to clean uip the mess, whilst saving Labour from being found out about have badly they have betrayed us with their finaicial waste and unaffordable spending )

Why Labour are really in favour of PR - their fear of England

Its all about trying to keep Labour in power .... The First Post's Mole made a similar point yesterday here...

This shows the straight dishonest about Labour's purpose. The current system that has allowed them absolute power for 12 years is about to kick them out, so they want to change the rules. Typical shameless Labour.

As it happens I think they are wrong. Any system of politics will establish and equilibrium.

If the desire of the English people to have their own parliament was honoured then a new type of Labour party - one with English rather than Celtic roots would emerge. It would win support in England and surely one day be in government. Events in Welsh and Scottish devolution have shown that even an established dominant party can be displaced within a home nations politics.

Labour are going to try to bounce the country into changing the rules to help them

So the most shameless government in history plans to do try to add to its reputation by changing the rules of our democracy to benefit itself and the personal careers of the soon to be defeated Labour political class.

At least that's what you have to conclude from the make up and nature of the so called "National Democratic Council" - a concept that would make East German communists blush.

This is an outrage in the making ....

Update: The Mole suggests its driven by a very gloomy (for Labour) view of their future prospects. ( Yes loyal Labour youngsters - the current gutless spon merchants have destroyed your futures. After all kicking away the ladder isn't just for the education system ;-) )

Based on PMQ question Cameron is clearly concerned Labour intend to fix the electoral system.

Brown is pushing proportional representation - Cameron says its because he's going to lose on the current system.

Brown just can't help but be very political....

A fixed consitution will be very hard to get agreement on. I can't help feeling its Labour trying to fix the system so that it can't be reversed when they are out of power for the next 15 years.

He's just mentioned no 10 petitions - wonder if Cameron will come back on the most popular petition there - to get rid of him.

Labour's scorched Earth strategy turns to the constitution

Like Hitler who determined that Germany must be destroyed for failing him, Gordon Brown and the Labour party seem determined to destroy the UK in spite and their impending rejection.

Our institutions have been savaged or destroyed. Educational certificates are now devalued. All public servants now seem to need cash incentives to go on top of their golden pay rises and spectacular pensions that for the over £60k/year mob make the troughing of MPs look like amateurs.

They have ensured our military will be on its knees for a decade or two to come, with decades worth of equipment life used up in a few short years, but no provision for replacements made.

They have bound and sold our country out to the European Union - at the same time breaking their election oath to provide a referendum on such a surrender to a foreign power.

Our banks have been destroyed and nationalised. Our currency debauched. Our pensions ( for those not in the ruling classes super well provided for left wing rich list public sector little piggy scheme ) have been stolen and reduced to dust.

But that's not enough for Labour, now they have to try to make the country ungovernable by the next government.

PR is always proposed by parties out of power or suspecting they will lose it shortly.

Alan Johnson, in combining a referendum with a general election is playing fast and loose with the constitution just to keep a few more little Labour piggies with their snouts in the trough at parliament.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not against electoral reform, although my preference would be for PR for the house of Lords to provide a form of check and balance on the geographical representation of the commons. But this is being proposed by panicked lefties who fear the loss of power. ( If proper PR were introduced then I don't expect any of the three main parties to survive as they are - especially the most shameless party of all the Lib Dems who are in effect two political parties with one name. )

Indeed I think its reasonable to argue that its actually a betrayal of democracy by a party seeking to retain power by changing the rules that keep it in absolute power for twelve years.

As I said in an earlier post, these are dangerous times. And the Labour party is the shameless, gutless, self interested machine to hang onto power in any way their grubby little minds can conceive.

The Rot

I've been away for a few days on a family wedding and have watch the revelations via my mobile phone with growing disquiet.

For those people who engage in politics the revelations on expenses are alarming but perhaps not surprising.

The army of local activists of all parties are going to get sick of hearing at the door step that all politicians are crocks, and a significant proportion of those who turn up at the ballot box will vote for parties that they think will annoy the establishment the most.

If we had a PR system, then I think you'd be looking at an Italian / Canadian scale changing of the political guard.

None of the major parties is going to come out well from this, although currently it is perhaps Labour who will suffer the most. ( Although given revelations about the shadow cabinet are due that can be by no means certain. )

We have a system where by the new political class, who are apt at playing the part of our representatives are able to deceive many of us.

I've just spend a few happy days in the world without national politics that is a family wedding, and its just depressing to look back into all this.

None of us know if politicians we admire, have campaigned for or supported will shortly be shown to have taken the tax payer for a ride. few of those of us who are volunteers can have anything other than a sick feeling in our stomachs.

The events that are reported are serious, disturbing and even revolting. But, but they are only a symptom of a deeper problem in the way we try to democratically govern ourselves.

"New Labour" is at the root of this problem. "The Project", "The Narrative", spin and of course lies deceit and triangulation.

The attempt to deal and manipulate peoples knowledge of the situation by controlling the media, emoting, using "sound bites" and political cross dressing.

What all those things have in common is a lack of moral integrity, unless you subscribe perhaps to the conceit of the left that only they are holy and have receipt of all wisdom and hence are justified in any actions, however reprehensible to destroy those who disagree with them.

Whilst Labour has lead on most of this, the other two main parties, including the Conservatives, cannot escape blame here. Defining yourself in opposition to your party's membership has become the standard trick of the trade of every new party leader. The poison of new Labour has spread to the wider body of politics.

I suspect Labour have suffered more as many of those who are at the top of the Labour party now went into politics believing something quite different from what the claim now. Having lost that integrity, its perhaps no surprise that they should lose moral integrity also, in the same way they trade political and intellectual integrity for power.

The test that comes now is how much shame those who have selected themselves to rule us now show. One of the abiding characteristics of the current government and Blair's before it was the shamelessness is showed.

Underlying all this is the need to stop politics continuing as a profession and a profitable one at that.

We need term limits and upper limits on the total amount of money any elected representative can ever receive from the tax payer.

We need men and women who see public service as a noble sacrifice not a career.

PS We should perhaps consider that dishonesty has become wide spread in our society. Many people lie on their CVs and embellish their expenses. There is a mirror here of our wider society if we can stand to look into it.

I realise I don't yet have a fully formed central thesis in this post, but I'm going to publish as its time to say at least something.

The BBC take on spinning the knife stats story

Its that old compare and contrast question again. Spot the state run broadcaster with guaranteed tax payers money (for that's what the TV poll tax is) year on year, and which has numerous of its employees going to join the Labour party and being generally very left wing ....

Crash Gordon's pyramid debt scheme

Its interesting to hear David Cameron start to talk about the need for criminal justice to be applied to those who got us into the financial mess we are in today. Directly he's talking about those involved in fraud etc. But its not a great leap of the imagination to start including government ministers in this call for justice.

After all most of the growth in the UK economy was in the public sector. All the "investment" ( Gordon speak for spending ) was used to help Labour gain more investment into its pyramid government scheme in two subsequent elections.

The government presided over a naked asset price bubble and failed to check banks were properly funded or regulated. Money was thrown at unreformed public services, and money was removed from the future by the destruction and stealth taxation of private pensions and the failure to reform unaffordable public pensions.

But in the mean time, the the casual voter, the returns looked good and they invested their trust in Labour again who repaid it by plunging the UK into the greatest debt it has ever been in - so that its leader could say he was doing something and try for one more layer on Labour's great debt pyramid scheme with a smash and grab election early in 2009.

I hope David Cameron means what he says about prosecutions and if senior government ministers and civil servants are shown to have mislead the public then they should wind up in court also. After all New Labour can now be seen for the great confidence trick it always was.
