A future enslaved to debt for all !

Labour again misleads with its new campaign slogan.

The truth is that they have sent the 4th biggest economy in thwe world with a pension system that was funded and the envy of Europe into a basket case dropping through the world rankings in every measure that matters.

No wonder Labour is ordering their canvassers not to dwell on their record !

The destruction of wealth in the UK

Man in a Shed doesn't do too many miles in his car, so only fills the tank up about once a month or so. There was a sharp intake of breath the last time I did it - £1.14 / litre !! almost 13% more than the previous fill !

Today I find a letter from Scottish power telling me that my monthly direct debit for gas must go up from £34/month to £50/month (47% increase).

My council tax has gone up by 4.9% (though Woking borough council did its best with a 0% rise for its component - thanks for the thought guys ).

My taxes will rise sharply as the 10% band is removed, as I will be paying myself a low wage this year.

But none of this need worry me as the government is busy presiding over a time when wealth will be destroyed on an almost unprecedented scale, except perhaps in time of world war (let not forget our government has us paying for at least two smaller wars right now ).

My pension fund is to be raided by RBS's demand for cash - and many of the other banks will soon do the same - as that's part of Gordon Brown's fig leaf for the next assault on my assets. Yes you thought the billions thrown at Northern Rock were bad enough, but soon the Bank of England will pretend that it can exchange the toxic mortgage securities that banks don't trust with government debt about £50 billion worth (which it will print money and devalue everyone's wealth through inflation to provide - the rest I - with you - will be liable to pay though taxes in years to come ).

Add to that the panic going round the Labour party right now that will lead to more of my(and my families) money being thrown into some bizarre Brownian tax credit / rebate over complex(and always expensive to administer - but that buys more Labour votes) scheme[ not announced yet - but you can be sure that if it comes to a choice between spending other peoples money to save their political skins and doing the right thing which way the despicable New Labour lizards will go].

I have been a fool to save money, in my pension and bank account. The government intends to destroy both whilst keeping early retirement and guaranteed final salary pensions for its own priestly caste.

But things could yet get worse ......

What is Brown doing ? Talking fantasy politics in America and grovelling with one of Britain's worst and most constant of enemies, Ted Kennedy. He talks about wanting to reorder the world - when his own country is drowning in the debt that it ran up on his watch and the wealth of many people is to be destroyed in his vane plan just to get re-elected.

Big ears starts sharpening his knives again for a slice of Kirkcaldy haggis

Mr Clarke has said the following:

"Labour has wasted much of the first half of this parliament. With some exceptions, our action to make the necessary changes has been insufficient. And now it seems to me that Labour still remains very unclear about our approach, both in this parliament and the next."
(emphasis mine.)

Given the 10 years Broon had to broad over what to do when he was crowned PM and the coup he tried to grinningly carry out but then bottled almost 2 years ago this is damning.

Frankly this is the governments own MPs saying it is not fit for purpose ( where is John Reid when you need him ? ).

Man in a Shed thinks another coup is in the planning ....

Update: And its seems the native slaves inside the government are restless also - see this from the Mole at the First Post.

Back to the 70's with Gordon !

The pattern is now emerging of how an unrestrained Gordon Brown government will work. Tony Blair kept the mad lunatic locked up in the Treasury and stopped his more Luddite socialist plans. But now there no one to tell Gordon what to do socialist command and control is coming back with avengeance.

There are more 10 year plans knocking about than you can shake a stick at. The Bank of England has been bypassed and the powers are being prepared for the government to take over the banks when they think its necessary. ( Oh yes they say its only for failing banks - after all the FSA can run a bank better than its management can't it [ think of the FSA's past glories a bit harder if you think the answer to that question was yes ]).

You can see the scene - Gordon Brown standing on the steps of No10 announcing he has just taken control of the banks in the national interest and that all our money is now guaranteed by the government ( something that it says on the bank notes anyway - and its a lie there also ) due to the current finaial crisis. Some of the banks assets will be used to pay for the peoples services such as the NHS and police during the current crisis [really to pay public sector pensions] - but it will all be paid back, but just for the moment no one can withdraw more than £100/day from their bank. [ Do you think this is extreme ? Well its what happened in Argentina only a few years ago - remember Gordon Brown hasn't hesitated to spend £10Billion/year of future pensioners income fire hosing cash around an unreformed public sector ].

The left always wanted to nationalise the banks back in the 1970's - which is where Gordon Brown's new incomes policy comes from. Yes - the concordat is back. 3 year pay deals according top Gordon all knowing master plan. ( If they get away with 3 - it won't be long before they go for 5 years ). A canny trade union official was on the radio saying that if he meant RPI+ then all would be OK - but we know Gordon means either flat rate or CPI+ , ie transferring the risk of inflation onto public sector workers, which they won't stand for.

This also shows they know inflation is going to be a lot more shocking than they are letting on - yet still they push for the castrated Bank of England MPC to reduce rates. Perhaps they have a plan for an election this year before the disaster becomes all too clear.

Gordon's gone away for Christmas and come back with the Labour manifesto from 1979, and is busy sending the economy back there also.

Where is Mrs T when you need her ?

Update: John Redwood thinks Alistair Darling's of back to the 70's also in his post here. The comment I think is most significant comes at the end when he says;

"Unfortunately we have a Chancellor who sees his role as being part of the media commentary on the situation, instead of the key player trying to lift a losing team."

Quite - this is the root of much of Labour's troubles they think they are in power to win elections, hence they appoint PR gurus as strategic advisers and make policy to get headlines rather than govern.

Red line already being breached

You knew Gordon Brown and the gap year student Miliblogger were lying when he spoken about the red lines.

Apparently the Germans are already subverting the issue in terms of symbols and anthems - see Eu Referendum and links to other here.

The problem with Gordon deceitful red lines is all they are will be bargaining chips to be traded away in the future. the agenda for the EU has been set and Brown/Blair didn't stop it. The only option for the UK in the long run is to cave in.

Its been as successful as his grumpy failure in boycotting the Africa-EU summit.

In short the decisions Brown makes at EU level result in Britain losing every time - he is not fit to be prime minister.

( That's three posts ion half an hour, and I haven't had coffee yet - going to get some work done now, maybe the internet will need to go off for a bit ! )

New Labour and Brezhnev

Lenin, Stalin and Brezhnev were travelling on the Moscow underground when the train shuddered, creaked and stopped.

Lenin said - the driver must be re-educated to become a new
man - then the train will move. So of he went to try - but the train stayed still.

Stalin said - the driver is a traitor to socialism and a counter revolutionary, he must be shot - and off Stalin went to shot the driver, but still the train didn't move.

Brezhnev said - I'll paint the windows of the train black - and tell people the train is moving !

Now before you laugh - remember New Labour is all about creating its own reality:

They don't spend on the NHS - they invest - mostly in salaries apparently,
Education, education, education ( yet we learn that primary and secondary schools are failing )
Standards at GCSE and A'Levels are always improving ( yet we now need an independent board as no one believes them any more ).
Devolution will quell nationalism ( but the Nats are now in government in at three devolved assemblies working towards the end of the UK ).
The Tories would cut the NHS - make up your own figure here - Gordon always does ( yet Gordon Brown cut £2Billion from the English NHS last year - but didn't make the corresponding Barnett formulae cuts to Wales and Scotland ).
The military can have whatever they want in Afghanistan ( except helicopters, ammunition, and yet there are no dedicated medivac helicopters, armoured vehicles are only just being purchased - troops have to pay council tax when out of the country - despite the small one of rebate - and are lucky to be able to vote - over 66% couldn't at the last general election ).
We have a vision for the future ( taken from watching the Conservative conference apparently)

New Labour has all been about perceptions - its great politics- its mostly lies - and its crap government.

The unintended consequences of Gordon Brown

Forcing teenagers to stay in education until 18 will cause “mass truancy” and criminalise thousands of young people, a teachers’ leader has warned.

As today's Daily telegraph reports.

Such is blindingly obvious ! ( See my last post on this ).

Its the unintended consequences of mass state intervention that make socialism the disaster that it has been proven to be.

So lets make a list of other "unintended consequences Gordon Brown through the Labour party has brought about:

  • The GP system is now part time - but costs more.
  • Efficiency (aka value for money) in the NHS has plumetted. Now not even your GP can refer you to hospital - as your medical needs are diverted in the Stealth waiting lists run by the government inspired primary health trusts.
  • Our servicement are now dying in old worn out or inadequate equipment - thanks to Gordon Brown and the treasurey.
  • Tax credits maladministration mean that many poor families now often have major financial crisis's.
  • The failure to hand out farming subsidies by Labour meant a fine - which was taken out from the Environmental Agency - just before the floods !
  • Only the honest are punished by the police now days ( crime targets means they prefere to catch the easy crimes ).
  • Immigration is uncontrolled - housing stoke is reduced and prices too high.
  • Cynacism in British politics is at a all time high - thanks to the spin that Gordon Brown - the real spin master - has precided over.
  • Devolution has meant that the English now have no equivalent representation to those areas of the country were their money goes to subsidise.
  • The top three priorities of the Gordon Brown government don't apply to the constituency he represents.
  • Christianity has been effectively criminalised in many walks of British life - like commerce.
  • Criminals are released early - even those who are a recognised danger to the public - because of a basic failure to plan and provide for prison places.
Any more anyone ?
