Quotas are the means of oppression

So the BBC has decided that comedy panels must have a woman on them.

Oddly it would seem the audiences didn't mind. If including more women had made a better program then no doubt it would have happened.

The list of female comics mentioned in article in the MSM this morning aren't of the sparing variety. They are good, situationally brilliant indeed ( Vicar of Dibly, Miranda, Ad Fab etc ), but not who you'd want in your pub quiz TV team.

But the cultural Marxists can't allow people to see the difference between the sexes, it will ruin their plan to attack society, break it down and reform it in their socialist tyrannical repressive model.

So there will be quotas - and you will laugh at the jokes or your name will go down on the diversity denier list.

The women on these shows will know they are token members of the panels, included because the Marxist BBC management has issued a fatwa that people should not be allowed to see male only panels.

Equality is being enforced - freedom is being crushed and oppressed.

Its time people saw the evil that is hiding behind the word equality for what it is - oppression.

What might the great firewall wall of Dave be used for ?

Blocking p*rn ? I'm fine with that - I do it at home using www.opendns.com ( who provide a free service with lots of fine control by the way ).

But what the government is up to has a worrying angle.

Of course these moves come in under the banner of fighting child harm or terrorism - but how long before the now established capability gets used for something else ?

What if say the three main political parties decided that having Eurosceptic views was unacceptable and should be blocked ?

We need to tread carefully here.

The SNP moves to crush free speech in a future Scotland

The SNP are planning on imposing draconian state control on the media in Scotland.

If Scotland leaves the Union, many will need to leave Scotland if they want to keep their "Freedom" (TM Mel Gibson ) .

( Yes it all starts are regulation - but that's not why all the left wing parties in the United Kingdom are so keen on their long cherished goal of developing statutory oppression. )

The equality industry will make clients of us all and damage everyone

Just listening to the news this morning three news items jumped out:

1. Calls for being Fat to be added to those protected by the equality act, due to the problem of body image with kids.
2. Lord Browne calls for "more to be done" for Gays in industry. I think I heard quotas and targets mentioned.
3. Alan Milburn wades into the social mobility debate by calling on professions to encourage people from "poor" backgrounds, especially in Medicine.

Every one of these issues is what my branch of engineering would call a tail pipe solution. All are unable to consider the underlying issue, some of the for fear of the political implications.

Each one demands an extension to the equality policies that make judgements arbitrary and directly remove equal rights from some ( like the right to work in case 2 ) to replace them to their clients.

This sort of discrimination has been tried, and is still undertaken in the United States, where quotas mean if you come from a racial group the state discourages then you won't get to University. If your in the wrong racial group you can't bid for some government contracts. The result is low standards and poor work, but the result has also been a client base for the left of centre Democrat party of people who know in a fair competition they wouldn't have their jobs or businesses, and thus are obliged to keep the protection racked going by supporting the democrats.

It represses freedom, creates deep injustice and provides a guaranteed supporters base to those who set the system up.

You can see why the left (inc the BBC)  are so keen on it.

But remember any dysfunctions in society continues ( for example poor education results from the state system ) and it is only punishing those who have done well by removing their human rights hand them to others. That's a nasty sort of state, and not one any right thinking person should wish on us here in England. But it is where the progressive left are marching us.

There is another disturbing example of the Labour inspired persecution of Christians, this time of a little girl and her mother at a Devon primary school.

In short a little five year old girl was overheard by a teacher discussing heaven and God with a friend and had been pulled to one side and told off by her "supporting equality and diversity" teacher. This lead to her being in tears when picked up by her mother after school.

Her mother also happens to work at the school, and sent a private email in her own time and from home to some fellow church members that the school has got hold of and is now under the threat of dismissal ( see the Daily Telegraph here for full details ).

Remember the Stasi Labour government has just set up the General Teaching Council that is busy trying to prevent teachers discussing their beliefs and to promote the state religion of "equality and diversity".

At the time that Labour is falling over itself to give in to threats of violence by militant Islam, it is setting the state on Christians.

Perhaps the Church of England's synod should have been discussing if any of its clergy should be allowed to be members of the Labour party ?

As I told you - Remember the left hate your children

Just under a year ago I finished a post with the warning "Remember the left hate your children" - see here.

Well if your were in any doubt before the proof is now in with Harriet Harman's Social Warfare bill to attack and destroy the middle classes ( as if that wasn't being done effectively enough by Labour economic policy ! ).

The anti-merit government policy has already reduced the effectiveness of the civil service ( as people who have to deal with it report to me ) and now requires certain firms employ token employees to win contract. This is going to get far worse if Labour hold onto power.

In reality this is probably the pre-election dog whistle, along with Hazel Blears trying to pretend she understands peoples concern about immigration ( as opposed to labelling it racism) before a general election. The only people Labour care about are themselves.

I wonder if this will make Gordon Brown's National Security Council - probably not as its mostly a public relations exercise to deceive the British people that he cares about such things.

The UK government should remember that appeasement is what triggered the last Falklands war.

Christian man loses eye over attempts to ‘rectify’ Muslims’ morals

SIALKOT, PAKISTAN (ANS) -- A Muslim mob robbed a Christian man of his eye with the help of a dagger and left another Christian man critically injured in village Sabz-kot in sub-division of district Sialkot on February 6.

The incident took place after the Christian residents of the village put up opposition to a couple of Muslim men who used to harass Christian girls on their way home from Church after Sunday services, the Pakistan Christian Post (PCP) has reported.

According to the story, announcements from the village mosques demanded the Muslim residents to teach a lesson to the Christians, who according to the story were referred as “infidels” in the calls from mosques. Most of the semi-literate Muslim clerics frequently use the word “infidel” for Christians and the other religious minorities of the country during their sermons with a view to inflame sentiments of local Muslims.

The story said that the Muslim mob, armed with guns, axes and clubs, attacked the Christian residents of the village. Tension erupted there after two Muslims, who have recently purchased houses in the Christian neighborhood, started claiming the courtyard of the Church as their own property. The story also said that the Muslims in question also threatened to erect a wall in front of the courtyard.

The Christian elders, according to the story, urged the Muslim elders of the village to stop the Muslim youth from drinking liquor publicly and using drugs in the common courtyard.

Mr. Basharat Masih, an elected member of the Union Council also took up the matter with the Muslim leaders but laying claim to the courtyard the Muslims insisted that nobody could stop them from consuming liquor in the courtyard.

Pakistani Christians are allowed to obtain a liquor permit, but a large majority of Pakistani Muslims are defacto consumers of liquor, as most of Pakistani Christians cannot even afford to consume liquor due to their poor-socio-economic conditions.

The Muslim mob in question fired a shot in the air and forced John Masih, a Christian resident of the area, to kneel down. Masih's refusal to obey cost him his eye as an unidentified Muslim dug out his eye with the help of a dagger.

“We will take out eyes of every infidel who shall dare to look straight in our eyes,” the PCP quoted one of the Muslims as saying.

Khariat Masih, who advanced to release John from the mob's clutches suffered injuries to his head, abdomen and legs after he was attacked with an axe.

The area Christian Councilor, Basharat Masih, rushed to defuse tension and to prevent attackers but he was brutally beaten with sticks. His mother Salima Bibi fell to save his son Basharat Masih from attackers but she was also dragged by hair in courtyard, said the story.

Later, Muslim mob broke out doors, which have been closed in fear of attack and dragged out children, men, women and elders. In gunfire, mob disgraced women and tortured men before their families, the story said.

The police came after attack and arrested Christians instead to registering any case against the Muslims. The police officials later started inquiry of incident in light of a property dispute between the two groups, the story maintained.

On the intervention of senior officials, John Masih, Khariat Masih, Basharat Masih, Salima Bibi, and three other were admitted in hospital. John Masih and Khariat Masih are said to be in critical condition.

Its the last part that is most depressing ( though the horror is earlier ). The police will not act. This is appears to often be the case in Pakistan.

The issue appears to be Christians daring to complain about the drunken behaviour of a Muslim. ( You would think the local Muslims would have been angry with the youth for drinking ).

It is again the issue of the dominance some see as their right, and shows how religious minorities are treated by some and the state in a Muslim country. Notice the role played by the Inmans and local mosques.

Perhaps the Archbishop of Canterbury would like to intervene ?

The good news is that with the results of the Pakistani elections some of the more oppressive laws, such as their blasphemy laws may be repealed. This is the real test to those who say that Islam and other cultures can coexist.

But I also think that Christians should be more aware of the suffering and oppression of our fellow believers in countries which lack reel religious freedom. There is perhaps always a danger that such minorities are used as hostages if they are seen to be important to westerners. However I think they make a good case to bring up with Muslims in county's like the UK which has such close and strong relations with Pakistan.

After all don't Christians have human rights also ? ( Try to imagine the outrage if the reverse situation had happened in England.)

Finally let me wish John Masih well, I will remember to pray for him.

28 days latter - the hypocrisy and corruption of the New Labour government

Its back. A useful Lib Dem idiot is being used by Gordon Brown to whine on about encryption and the possibility that somebody - one day - might require more than 28 days detention to decrypt a hard drive.

This is the case for destroying our civil liberties that we are expected to swallow.

Now we have the head of MI5 being used, apparently willingly,to support Gordon Brown's cynical political tactics to try and outmanoeuvre the Conservatives. ( He may protest that he actually believe what he has said - but the timing and way it has been said puts him firmly in the partisan Labour camp - you have to assume that a member of the security services understands this ).

What's Gordon Brown so scared of ? The answer is simple - Madrid. The Madrid bombing has concentrated New Labour minds ( not 7-7 ) as it lead to the terrifying prospect of a members of a government losing their jobs. After all what are they actually skilled at if not looking after there own interests first and destroying all evidence and people who potential damage their pursuit of self interest ?

Remember they have produce no evidence of needing more than 28 days detention without charge, none at all. They have provided no examples in public or as far as we know in private to the other parties ( not that the provision of one or two examples would be enough anyway ).

Labour was quite happy to vote against anti-terrorism legislation when it was the IRA trying to kill Policemen, Servicemen and Tories. Its not a matter of principle for them - its an cynical opportunity. They get to reduce freedom, that they find so toxic to socialism, at the same time as chasing electoral advantage.

If it was encryption that's the issue then the answer is more computing power for cracking it - not running less computers for longer and destroying the basis of our ancient freedoms in the process.
