"The sad truth is that pensions savings are going to be what pays the price for these efforts to bail out the economy in the short term."

One of the effects of the shock waves of the Bank of England decision to start increasing the money supply, by supply the money, looks like being drastically damaging private pension schemes - as the price of annuities becomes very unfavourable. This may in turn kill of the remaining final salary pensions schemes.

Add to that the worries over the re badged Norwich Union Aviva solvency - well it worries me as much of my pension is with them - and only the public sector gold plated pensions are standing.

Perhaps the government is going to need those troops on the streets after all.

What we are seeing is the systematic confiscation of private wealth by the government, though future taxation to repay debt, tax on pensions, devaluation of annuities and the low interest rates. No wonder Gordon smiling so much.

I'm not sure any of us will be able to afford to grow old.

As I told you - Remember the left hate your children

Just under a year ago I finished a post with the warning "Remember the left hate your children" - see here.

Well if your were in any doubt before the proof is now in with Harriet Harman's Social Warfare bill to attack and destroy the middle classes ( as if that wasn't being done effectively enough by Labour economic policy ! ).

The anti-merit government policy has already reduced the effectiveness of the civil service ( as people who have to deal with it report to me ) and now requires certain firms employ token employees to win contract. This is going to get far worse if Labour hold onto power.

In reality this is probably the pre-election dog whistle, along with Hazel Blears trying to pretend she understands peoples concern about immigration ( as opposed to labelling it racism) before a general election. The only people Labour care about are themselves.

The value of GCSEs to be abolished

Apparently having learnt nothing at all from the modular A level fiasco the educational establishment is going for modular GCSE which you will retake modules of until you pass.

Hence all with have prizes and GCSE's will become worthless, much as A levels have started to do.

This suits the educational establishment which hates objective measures of its performance and would rather carry out its mission to create socialism by using its own judgement for which pupils should be allowed to go forward in life. It will be so much easier for them to carry out their vindictive class war against the middle classes with all objective evidence removed.

"The middle classes are becoming the new whipping boys for 'New Labour'"

The post headline is a quote from Peter Morris, chairman of the Professional Association of Teachers in Wales in an article by Graeme Paton in today's Daily Telegraph.

The great irony here is that the more the NuLabour government - lead by the arch interferer Gordon Brown - mess up education by fixing admission by asking which way daddy and mummy voted what a candidates parents achieved - the more education will become worthless.

Privilege will allow people to get their children internships in big companies ( like Tony Blair's son Euan gets ), whilst the talented, but without contacts, will be left on the scrap heap with no means of advancement.

The Grammar school row damaged the Conservative party - but it also showed how incendury government destruction of peoples children's futures is. Right now the Labour government is creating a bonfire for of the hopes of many capable children - many from working or middle class backgrounds - for the sake of their own political spite. The public will hate them for it - if we can explain what is going on !

The Labour attacks on grammar schools begin

The Press Association is reporting the following:

Every grammar school in the country should twin with a failing comprehensive to raise standards, a top Government adviser said on Wednesday.

Sir Cyril Taylor, chairman of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, said grammars need to do more to help children from the poorest families.

He said he would not want to close the remaining 164 selective grammars in England but suggested that every one of them could form partnerships with weaker schools nearby.
    (the rest here ).
There's going to be a lot of this - in part to keep the Conservative party off balance and in part to put the knife into a long standing socialist enemy - the aspirational people of the working and middle classes.

This is what most natural Conservative supporters knew would happen and part of what makes us so angry with Team Cameron right now.
