Welcome Sakina Bradbury

The following press release speaks for itself, and is great news:

Sakina Bradbury, a councillor in Surrey, has become the third Liberal Democrat to defect to the Conservative Party in the last four months.

Sakina has been a Liberal Democrat councillor for Whyteleafe ward on Tandridge District Council since 2002.

She decided to join the Conservatives after becoming "increasingly impressed" by the way the Conservative administration of Tandridge District Council met the needs of local residents.

And she praised David Cameron, describing his election as leader as "a major advance in the political development of the Conservative Party."

Party Chairman, Caroline Spelman, welcomed Sakina to the Conservatives, saying:

"Sakina's decision to come over to us shows how the Party has changed under David Cameron, and that the Conservatives present the only opportunity to give Britain the changes people want to see."

The dishonesty of New Labour laid bare

Here we go again. Gordon, who thinks your bank account is really his election fund, is apparently going to shift the burden of his next vast wasting of your cash on unreformed public services by getting the money via Council tax - as today's Telegraph reports. Up to £200 over the next few years. He lacks the honesty of raising income tax - he must have been sleeping though any of his father's sermons on honesty.

The DT quotes the leader of Surrey CC as saying:

Nick Skellett, the leader of Surrey county council said: "It is an appalling and dishonest strategy to keep income tax at fixed levels and raise huge sums through council tax."

Of course Gordon will chuckle that it will be Conservative and Lib Dem councils that will get the blame for what he has done.

Council tax is now at levels that can't be sustained and is in effect becoming a form of wealth tax. If you have something - Gordon wants it. Just saying you paid for it, and where highly taxed on those earnings, is no justification to shameless sly socialists like Gordon Brown.

Conservative Surrey serves the people best !

The BBC reports today that Surrey CC ( Conservative controlled ) has managed to make £40m between 2005 and 2007.

At last good news !

They have been able to employ more front line service personnel including 120 more Social workers ( not sure how I feel about that one ! They will no doubt vote Lib Dem under the mistaken belief that inefficiency is good for job security).

Still what about that... not an announced and re-announced target like the ones that Gordon Brown announces - but real and achieved.

In short Vote Conservative !
