Has Rosie Sharpley been shamed into revising the dodgy Lib Dem bar chart ?

If you get a letter from the Lib Dems in Woking it will have the following form on it and the bar chart that has been repeated in all the various forms of literature the Lib Dems have pushed through letter boxes. ( Some of the literature is designed to look like local newspapers - the purpose of this is obvious and it doesn't reflect well on Rosie as the Lib Dem candidate. )

Yes its the infamous Lib Dem dodgy bar chart. Taking whatever local elections results the Lib Dems want to throw in - ignoring the general election result - when Labour always poll far better - and of course ignoring UKIP on the bar chart. ( UKIP are the useful idiots in Woking - allowing Euro federalist Lib Dems to split the right of centre vote ).


But whats this ? Over on the Lib Dem web site the Labour vote has suddenly shot up (see below) ?
How can this be ? Could it be that the backlash against Lib Dem campaigning techniques which have been described as dirty and nasty is beginning to worry them ?
That's about the 14% Labour got in the last general election.

This could be a sign of a wider lifting of the veil on the true nature of Woking's Lib Dems and Rosie Sharpley's campaign. Many people never know them as their opponents do, but I suspect if this starts to change their support will erode.

Why don't Lib Dems campaign on their policies rather than dodgy bar charts and pathetic campaigns about who's most local ?

I think the second and third leaders debates show why. Nick Clegg was doing great until Lib Dem policies like the immigration amnesty and joining the Euro came up. The weak point of the Lib Dems is their policies, which is why they try to make such a big issue out of anything else they can.

PS Take a look at the results from the last general election here in The Times. The Times has Labour of 16% and others ( mostly UKIP ) on about 3%. This information is just missing from almost all Fib Dem Lib Dem literature.

The Lib Dems are getting very excited about deceiving people about which political party governs them in the future. Will they keep the insane Gordon Brown as PM or the kitten drowning David Cameron ? They of course are far too dishonest to tell you, but they will issue a set of demands. A copy below (H/T Conservative home )

• A shake-up of the tax system to lift four million people out of tax by raising tax thresholds to £10,000, with higher taxes for the rich;
• A boost to education spending targeted at children from poor families through a "pupil premium";
• A switch to a greener economy less dependent on financial services;
• Political reform, including a new voting system for Westminster elections.

Here are the problems with these demands:

1) A tax system where only the rich pay will encourage the less well of to vote for free money ( ie more spending as it costs them nothing), whilst the rich just leave. Everyone should vote, and everyone should pay according to their means. Spending power without responsibility will just return us to the 1970's road crash of an economy.

2) More money hasn't delivered better education. Yet more money won't either. When human rights and government social engineering has removed the right to a straight forward education in a school run and controlled by competent teachers - more money will just be more waste.

3) The Green heat of technology deceit has already been shown up to be a lie in many other places. Its the sort of myth well of professional classes like to tell themselves when they was their hands of the consequences ( see Guardian and Indie readers. )

4) Here's the real demand - a voting system to allow Lib Dems to black mail every future government for ever.

Not a great list - with narrow and deceitful self interest at its heart that seeks to mislead and let the people down.

More tax for the South of England as Scotland enjoys tax freeze - thanks Lib Dems

So the Lib Dems plan to punish the English who live in the South of England, especially the South East whilst at the same time their Celtic heartlands enjoy that money being hosed around in Scotland and Wales.

They will whinge on about anyone with a big house being able to "afford it" - but lets remember that money that goes to the government to pay for places like 75% public sector employee zones in the North doesn't get spent in the economy of the South of England. ( Today we have the Bank of England, for example, explaining what the impact of people cutting back is likely to be on the economy ),

The money has been taken from all of us here - but the Lib Dems will use their normal dishonest arguments to try and pass this of as a victimless attack.

The Lib Dems aren't even planning on using it to fund Gordon Brown's rising national debt, but to pay for bribes for more votes for their party in areas of Labour's heartland where they fancy their chances.

What to do when the local Lib Dem starts peddling lines you think are untrue ? ( And lets face it a lot of people have this problem. )

Why do Lib Dems do it ? Don't they have any self respect or shame ?

Is this the case all over the country or just in Woking ? How many people have they mislead ? Why would anyone think this was an acceptable way to carry out politics ?

Further There was a time when local Conservatives just thought the Lib Dems would be found out eventually, but as we know from other campaigns a lie travels a long way before the truth gets out of the door. If this type of politics continues then rapid rebuttal is going to become a regular feature.

I don't think the public really likes this style of politics and it would be much better if all sides could agree to put their case forward clearly and let the voters decide. But equally allowing the Fib Dems a free hand is not an option any more.

Clegg's being a prat

A petition with 5% of a constituency to recall an MP ?

Typical Lib Dem proposal in that it is:

1) self serving - like those mindless manufactured rage leaflets they push through your door with their candidates pointing at hole in the road ( its just what your stir shamelessly 'local campaigner' false friend Lib Dem would love);
2) impractical. It would mean any political party or religious organisation could remove and MP at any point;
3) just about grabbing headlines for selfish Lib Dems, instead of contributing to the debate; and,
4) has no chance of being implemented ( the true test of a nutty Lib Dem policy ).

The major problem with the Lib Dems is they aren't known for who they really are....

Lib Dems - claiming here !

OK the expenses bun fight is one where all parties are going to have embarrassing revelations, but I especially enjoyed this one from Guido that shows that Lib Dem MPs have the highest claim rates !

So armed with my Fib Dem handbook of starting scales at any point that suits me and trying to engaged in fake outrage I came up with the graph below. ( Hey local Fib Dems you remeber when you put out that election literature that claimed Conservative Surrey CC had made cuts of £50million, without telling people that Labour had cut Surrey's grant by the same. Or when you put leaflets through peoples doors saying Councillor **** wants to know your views - when they aren't a councillor in that Conservative Ward. Well this is just a little payback. And that's before you get me onto dodgy bar charts comparing votes from different elections etc .)

Nice to know the Lib Dems are winning at something !

MP Expense claims have shown the Lib Dems, on average, claim the most.

PS Just to save the yellow ones the effort of commenting I recognise it most likely to be because their MPs are based as far from London as almost possible ( but not as far as we'd like ! ).

The calculating deceit of the Lib Dems

For some of today - when not wondering about the end of the financial world as we know it - I gave a bit of thought to the Lib Dems apparent conversion to tax cuts.

Its going to make our life easier - and move the debate in our direction. Which is good. I don't actually think it will win them any votes as which party do you trust to deliver a smaller state, Conservative or Lib Dem ? ( Anyone answering Lib Dem is beyond help ).

But I hadn't been prepared for the deceit and trickery of Nick Clegg.

I've just listened to Newsnight as Jeremy Paxman tried to get him to explain where his GBP 20 billion tax cut was coming from. ( A hint: It made Charles Kennedy's defence of Lib Dem taxation policy before the 2005 election look lucid. )

But then just a little latter I heard him being interviewed for the Daily Politics and guess what ?
He's not proposing tax cuts at all !!!!! Its just to get headlines. What he's saying is he wants to divert money from Whitehall to the 'peoples priorities' and if any is left over then maybe a little of tax. Given the list of extra spending he mentioned I would expect taxes to have to rise.

They can't be trusted - but then I guess we all knew that.
