Man in a Shed: The United Kingdom Sovereignty Bill (2010) - solution to the Lisbon ratified issue
Just heard David Cameron's announcement at 4pm and there's a lot I like there, and even the UK Sovereignty Bill like the one I suggested a month ago. ( OK its probably coincidence - but still ... ).

Wont work, Lisbon's self amending, there will be no other treaties to have referenda on. The only way we'll get sovereignty back is if we leave the EU, this is just weasel words and spin from Cameron.
A declaration of Sovereignty can work, as the American's proved.
We are either in or out Cameron is talking cast iron bollocks.
We are knackered, MiaS, Quiet Man and Peter Whale are absolutely right. I wish that wasn't the case, but it is the case and Cameron knows it!
MiaS - it's gone much further than that now. This is a split we're looking at or at the least, a giant powerplay by the Eurosceptics and must be so. Cameron can't be trusted, despite this bill and is rapidly becoming unelectable.
This is not the time for papering up the cracks, no matter how practical this bill appears on the surface. He is still playing within the EU rules in this whereas we should be arguing from a strong position.
All I can say is that have the bust up before the election and there will be Labour in power for another 5 years.
Have the bust up after the election and you get to hold a functioning govt to ransom.
Now I realise that there's a calculation you can make to go for the long war, but I don't think its the right one. Labour are now starting to ram socialism down peoples throats in education, finance, "the diversity agenda", immigration, destroying our defence forces, selling us into eternal debt etc. That damage must be stopped as the first over ridding priority.
Win those battles and there will be time to sort out the EU. Lose them and its all over anyway.
On all the important issues the Centre-Right and Right (or more accurately Eurosceptics and Europhobes) are of one view. It would be a supreme folly to fall out over an issue which is going to roll on for decades before there is even the slightest chance of a European superstate coming into existence. Keep Labour out of power for ten years or more, and the Right can "do" for the US of E.
