Do you trust Gordon Brown on civil liberties ? 91% don't !

That must be why he's taking the panicked 'always planned' decision to make a speech on civil liberties today.

Labour - they just do say whatever their focus groups tell them to say and then destroy the country by stealth when they've crushed the debate.

    Mr Brown's speech came days after Conservative David Davis announced he was standing down as an MP in order to fight a by-election on the issue of civil liberties and shortly after 36 Labour MPs rebelled against the 42-day proposal.

    Downing Street said that the speech was not intended as a response to Mr Davis, but declined to say whether it was in Mr Brown's diary before the MP's shock announcement last week.

Right - so its the usual disinformation, cowardice and spin then ....
