25% Unemployment

Reports are coming in that Spanish unemployment is reaching 25% at the same time that the cost of borrowing is rising for it government, and we must assume tax revenues are going down as welfare goes up.

That's not financially or politically sustainable is it ?

Soon Spain will have to worry about things like paying to feed its population.

Soon countries like the UK will have to rethink the free movement of peoples in Europe, as our job market comes under yet more pressure and our own children ( maybe they are too pampered, but there still ours ) are unable to get that first job.

Soon the consensus on all this is going to snap.

In the mean time think about the appalling fact of 25% unemployment. Who's to blame ? The last socialist government ? The EU ? You can be sure a scape goat will be needed soon.

Is it Thatcher? It usually is.

I had a Spanish friend who is a girl and her mother was a right-wing politician - they say the unemployment figures are massaged and far, far higher than stated, particularly in the regions.
