Maggie saved us from the left's plan for misery and destituion

The 1980's weren't a picnic, but by the time you'd lived through the 1970's you knew something needed doing. The soft answers and consensus had been tried and tried again and failed, but then came Mrs Thatcher.

The Daily Mail has a report on the thirty year rule papers that have been published which show just how strong she had to be to save our country from the left and the Unions and to restore our ability to do profitable manufacturing and business.

So powerful was he victory that Labour had to claim to accept the major parts of her revolution just to get themselves elected.

Of course under #RedEd and the New Luddite Unions that's all being cast aside - which is why the fight next year will be fierce and will determine if we will need a re-run of the 1970's to have our own much needed 1980's revolution. I hope this won't be necessary, but if we don't fight the lazy deceitful arguments of the likes of Ed Miliband then its a fate the county may be condemned to again.

A cold year - at least according to my gas bill

So according to my gas bill and gas usuage data - its been an expensive year to heat the house, even if #ManBearPig man made socialism forcing really is true, which of course it probably isn't.

My prediction for next year is the dropping by a major UK political party of the backing for man made catastrophic global warming and its industry.

Christmas is just about rest - no Christ or Christians apparently

Ed Miliband's message ignored Christians, the Church, and the birth of Christ. Given his Jewish roots you'd think he'd know a bit more about the foundations of Christmas.

At least he gets his kids names right on the autocue.

PS Are there any more vacuous politician Christmas messages out there, or this the worst - this year ?

Sorry socialists I am trying to be nice to you - look on the bright side your new supreme dear leader is getting more coverage ! ( Happy Christmas. )

Christmas truce

Sitting in a coffee shop in my home town listening to piped carols the fact that Christmas is catching up can not be ignored any longer. ( If only as I haven't bought the Wife's presents yet. )

So on the spirit of good will to all men, even socialists, I'm declaring a Christmas blog truce. Only upbeat posts to follow.

Open session resumes on 1st Jan 2011.

Good luck with your preparations folks.

Blogging on

Well the honeymoon certainly over now. The hard left have had their Christmas come early with the sort of violence and thuggery that they dream of getting onto our streets. The Unions are starting to make as much trouble as they can - claiming its about safety, dismissal of a Union rep or even pay - but really its all about the war on society that the left always undertakes when out of power. ( Unfortunately they do as much damage in power, but in a different way ).

The question, as some of the right's bloggers retire, is who will win the political argument over the next few years ?

If we fail in the political battle now then the left will get another chance to destroy our country and enslave our children to debt as they did over the last 13 years.

Its said that political blogging needs anger and emotion as its mix of rocket fuel, and that now the right (and some rather dumbfounded Lib Dems) are in government the taps have been turned off.

I think those of us who fought so hard to get Labour and Gordon Brown out need to refocus on the ideological battle that's now going to be fought. This will then in time influence the political battle.

The question is can our country be turned around in a few years ? Can the jobless be saved from the methadone doses of Labour's failed welfare state ? Can the UK stop selling its children's future to foreign creditors whilst also robbing the retirements of its current citizens ? Can we finally reform the NHS so it does not kill so many people and provides the effective health care other countries without soviet health systems enjoy - for all their citizens ? Can we achieve the education results others do on far less money uninhibited by the Luddite ideology of the left and its hate of achievement and children ?

Can we save England from the looters ? The disadvantaged from their left wing users ? Those without hope from those who live off hopelessness ?

Its certainly worth the fight and there's plenty of rocket fuel lying around if you look for it.

So long Iain Dale's blog

So he's finally done it, as we must all do some day.

The blogsphere, especially those on the right of centre, will miss the withdrawal of Iain Dale from blogging and active politics.

We have much to thank him for.

And there's now a vacancy up for grabs as leader of the Tory blogging pack. It will be interesting to see who emerges next ! Or maybe its part of a wider reordering of the online world with blogs in decline.

So long Iain and thanks for the links.

English Education policy

Yesterday showed something else, apart from the entirely predictable left wing thuggery on the streets, and that is the need for an English Parliament.

We have an issue that only impacts the English - tuition fees - being voted on by the likes of Charles Kennedy and Ming Campbell.

Time for an English Parliament and the Celtic fringe can go and play in Cardiff, Belfast & Edinburgh.

Its Labour's selfish hypocrisy that's the enemy of poor students getting to University

At last the Coalition has started fighting back at the muddled thinking and just plain ignorance of much of the "make taxpayers - including poor people who never went to Uni" pay instead of the future middle class.

There is a spectacularly good offer for financing University education with no risk and nothing to pay unless you succeed.

So the future careerist left wing hypocrites are left with just one self for filling and self serving argument. "The idea of debt will put off poor students" - well it might when you say it like that without explaining all the safeguards and no win no pay parts of the government loans offer. In fact its the left who are putting poor students off by wilfully misinforming them and running scaremongering schemes. But then what's new - the left's relationship with poverty has long been that of a drug pusher with his clients.

Now its true that anyone who aspires to go to University should be able to see through the naked political manipulation of the NUS and Labour cases - after all why do we want stupid people at Uni. ( And by the way weren't many of those interviewed over the last few weeks depressing for the shear scale of their ignorance. )

But we should all be supporting fair opportunities to succeed for all - like the Coalition is doing.

Lets also remember, if by some awful disaster, Gordon Brown had carried on as PM they would have been implementing the Browne review instead, and all the selfish careerist student politicians who hope to be Labour parasite MPs one day would have played their opposition down as it impact their future snouts in the trough of what we now call politics.

Collapse

In Man in a Shed's working world there are banks of lights in control rooms, or at least there used to be before visual displays took over.

It was not usual to see flashing yellow and red lights as alarms went of around a plant. It took a skilled operator to know what to worry about, and what was of secondary importance.

Well right now more and more financial lights are flashing in the news. The Euro, our national debt ( still climbing and with no reduction in national spending planned - despite what a bunch of middle class students think ), even China.

It all looks unstable. The problem is we are, as a result of our political system, lead by amateurs, who have short term interests written into their contracts. If you though annual bonuses for bankers encourage reckless speculation, then quintennial elections do the same for politicians ( who live for the next election - not the future ).

So what the rest of us need to start thinking about right now is a broader, and hopefully short lived - collapse.

We know from the weather that there isn't much food in the country any more. Does anyone believe the government could feed the country for 6 months as the world sorted itself out ? Or indeed that what we produce in this country would be worth battering for food afterwards ?

It is time to start considering some of the unpalatable possibilities of collapse facing the world. The warning lights are flashing - the question is what do they mean and is our government making preparations for some of the less electorally fabvourable outcomes that might be life or death issues to us in two years time ?

Where is Wikileaks ?

http://tinyurl.com/wikileaksLookup

or http://213.251.145.96/ if you prefer. ( Domain info on 213.251.145.96 is available here. )

Their DNS entry has been pulled. If you can believe anything that's being said about them right now ...

A list of Wikileak mirrors is here and apparently the site not has a swiss url ( for the time being - its not working for me right now).

The real problem

(Wiki)Leaking to whom exactly ?

Right so some kid with a recordable CD with the words Lady Gaga written on it is brining the US to its knees. Hence all the blood thirsty calls for his execution and tracking down the enemy of the establishment who runs WikiLeaks.

But hold on one minute.

If this kid can do this I think we have to assume Russian intelligence, the Chinese and even the French have this information to hand. As lets face it it wasn't very secure was it.

So all the US's enemies know all this anyway - the only people who didn't know are the people in the US and other countries.

And this is the unforgivable crime - letting us know what everyone else already does.

I think this may be the biggest revelation of all.
