So why is Brown taking 6-7 weeks off ?

He's only served some of a term and yet Brown is taking a very long period of holiday.

Why ?

Is it medical leave ? If so we should be told about any conditions that are impacting his ability to lead the country.

Perhaps the media knows why and its one of those Blair family type secrets ? I have some more sympathy with this idea, and the lack of MSM interest in Brown's prolonged absence suggests they know and are keeping quiet. If so then Mr Brown its time to put your family first and resign. ( But a new leader will mean a general election in time for the Conservatives to stop Lisbon - oh I see.... )

Is he just Lazy ? Or crazy in a temporary sort of way they think might get better ?

Its another one of those obvious questions that just isn't getting asked by the MSM.

To be honest, he's been so busy saving his career for so long that he's probably accrued quite a lot of annual leave.

He's not ill, he's just hiding.

He's ran off. Great leadership, Gord.

The MSM is probably bored with him.

James - I do wonder if this isn't part of the Mandelson plan that over a few months we forget how bad Brown is and they have a successful relaunch at the Labour party conference ( with Sarah doing some heart string pulling about "her husband" to make everyone feel guilty about hating him as PM ).

Of course the POD wouldn't really believe this will work - but then he just has to keep Cameron out of power long enough for the Lisbon Treaty to be ratified ....

I think he lacks the courage to face the country about the early release of the Lockerbie bomber.

As soon as there's any whiff of Labour scandal and dirty dealing, he goes straight into Macavity mode. His holiday was deliberately timed so that he would be away when Megrahi was released and, if I remember correctly, he was originally only supposed to be away for one month.

@Barking Spider - yes you have a good point. I was reminded of his later arrival to sign the Lisbon betrayal.

I should think you're very close to it.

Why is Brown taking 6-7 weeks off?

...because being a member of the ruling class, he can.

Maybe he's having a facelift?
