At last our departure from the EPP looks imminent

A while ago I resolved that I wouldn't vote for the Conservative euro list if the party was still in the EPP at the time of the Euro elections.

It would be the first time in my life that I'd have voted for another party, and wasn't something I was looking forward to having to do.

But the good news is that its looking like the Conservatives will have pulled out of the EPP by the time of the June elections.

Fantastic.

How can you vote Conservative when they are going to do nothing for England?

Barnett Formula - nothing.
English Parliament - nothing.
English regions - nothing.
WLQ in general - next to nothing.

And from Cameron - just insults.

@Wrdtimes - your certainly right the Conservatives are weak on England, but there is an argument to be won there.

The abolition of the regional government structure has been announced.

As you say David Cameron is wide of the mark, but others are much more supportive like John Redwood.

My view is that the only party that is realistically going to deliver an English Parliament is the Conservative party, hence thats the place to make the argument.

"The abolition of the regional government structure has been announced." By who?

Mr Cameron seems to be going out of his way to be as unionist as possible.

The injustices facing England are so obvious and so continual that the fact the Tories don't take them seriously really makes me worry about their moral compass.

The English are getting shafted - fiscally, democratically and culturally. All they care about is getting power - and getting as much power as possible.

Cameron wants to be PM of the UK not England. He wants to play on the world stage but serving England should be enough for any Englander.

The world is changing.

England can limp on as the last colony of the British empire. Blinded by delusions of grandeur of global influence

Or England could be a small, peaceful prosperous nation. A free nation.

Personally I think England would actually end up with more influence as a beacon of independence and freedom.

Just in time John Redwood answer's the regional quango/committee question today here - well he's reporting on Caroline Spelman.

I agree the English get a terrible deal, and I'm mostly agnostic about the UK. ( I'm fine with the UK as long as the considerable commitment and sacrifice by the English is to some extent reciprocated - right now we just get insults and demands for more cash ).

But if any party has the chance to sort this then its the Conservative party.

A move that has taken far too long in my opinion.

Can I suggest you read some Toque http://toque.co.uk to see what the Tories think of the English question.

The Conservatives are enemies of England just like Labour...
