Are they taking advice from Keynes or Lenin ?

Lenin is said to have declared that the best way to destroy the Capitalist System was to debauch the currency. By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens ... Lenin was certainly right. There is no subtler, no surer means of over-turning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.

Author: John Maynard Keynes, Source: Economic Consequences of the Peace, pp. 235, 236, [1920], emphasis mine.
There seems to be a continual transfer of power, wealth, and freedom to the state under Labour. Who is to say it hasn't been planned all along ?

Oh, some of us have been convinced that it was planned this way years ago, when outfits such as Common Purpose and the Fabians devised the grand plan that has been ever more overtly put into action in the UK and behind the scenes within the EU bureaucracy.

Some of us are also thus aware of what has been planned to happen next, and after that, and after…

Dear Mr Shed,

I'm not a great believer in the conspiracy theories, lizards, marmosets or whatever, I don't pretend to understand half of it. Ignorance, incompetence and stupidity provide a more convincing explanation, for me anyway.

An example would Harperson's positioning for the leadership. To curry favour with the backbenchers and the all important unions we will see a flurry of policy initiatives designed to address the basest of socialist or politically correct ambitions, all of which will be damaging to the already tattered fabric of our society, but none of which will be made by sinister intent, just despicable self-interest.

I tend to subscribe to the balls-up over conspiracy theory on most occasions.

But in this case you must remember than groups on the hard left have always known they could probably never win power at the ballot box under normal circumstances, but by copying their best moment the October revolution with machine guns on key buildings. ( Perhaps the other key moment was the National Socialist taking advantage of the 1930's collapse to get Adolf Hitler appointed Chancellor ).

Their strategy was always to take control of movements, events, unions, protests to at the critical moment steer them to their objectives.

For this they need a crisis.

There's plenty of evidence they do this from student politics to any protest ( take you pick the man from the Socialist Workers is there with their distinctive banners ).

Other groups such as Common Purpose certainly have potential dual use.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
