Charles is unfit to be king as he has no faith

Its quite clear from his past performances and now the Luddite approach he has to the monarchy's constitutional position that Charles is unfit to be king.

Its time to return to the Anglo-Saxon tradition of electing our kings.

Update: Sources are spinning today's that Charles would take a more active role in politics ( well that's what they mean ).
Frankly I think the monarchy will die with Elizabeth II.

More support for this view over on the First Post here by Will Self.

Defender of All Faiths?

No faith is the same thing as defender of all faiths.

It shows contempt, arrogance and ultimately stupidity.

Those who have 'faith' respect others faiths - whatever their creed.

Respect is an interesting word in this context.

If I believe my faith is true and it, by its definition (eg Christianity ), regards the other faiths as false then saying I have 'respect' is just dishonest and being patronising. It is also another way of saying I don't care about people who have other faiths.

Now you can be respectful of the person, and that is a different matter. So we can disagree I can respect your right to do so. You can have freedom of conscience ( at least in this country - but not many Muslim countries ).

Defender of freedom might be acceptable, but defender of faith is just stupid, dishonest and patronising.

To be fair, he would not be the first King to be less than enthusiastic in his championship of the Church, or of Christianity generally. I am more concerned that he appears to believe himself wise and profound while actually being gullible and obstinate. For the first time in my Royalist life I am beginning to think that the monarchy has come to the end of its useful existence.

To add a touch of levity:

An atheist was walking through the woods.

'What majestic trees!
'What powerful rivers!
'What beautiful animals!
He said to himself.

As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him...

He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly bear charge towards him.

He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder &
saw that the bear was closing in on him.

He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer.

He tripped & fell on the ground.
He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him.

At that instant the Atheist cried out, 'Oh my God!'

Time Stopped.
The bear froze.
The forest was silent.

As a bright light shone upon them, a voice came out of the sky.

'You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident. Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament?

Am I to count you as a believer'?

The atheist looked directly into the light, 'It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could make the BEAR a Christian'?

'Very Well,' said the voice.

The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear
dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke:

'Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty
through Christ our Lord, Amen.'
