Does anyone remeber Brown giving credit for the idea of the Bank bailout ?

It appears that the current bank bailout plan was dreamt up by two bankers at Standard Chartered, who public spiritedly tried to help the HM Treasury, and the other two, out.

Now if you watched the news you'd think it was only Gordon Brown's wonderful mind and 'leadership' that did this.

In accademic circles this is known as plagarism and it about the worse crime you can committ.

Gordon Brown should know that he worked at Glasgow Uni.

So here we are again being deceived by Gordon Brown. We know what he's really like, but the rest of the world has some catching up to do...

In today's papers, Brown's 'heroic' work is starting to look shaky. No doubt more holes will be found in the bailout as time goes on.

Yes - we've learnt to spend our time reading the small print of Brown schemes.

I still think HBOS will prove very controversial.

The problem is the rest of the world don't know him like we do.

The law of unintended consequences ensures Brown's plan will fail.

If it all goes tits up he'll find someone else to blame.

For the life of me I can't understand how this man got to the top.

There is something very wrong with England these days.

Rubbish. George Soros has suggested something similar, and Swedes in the 1990s also implemented a similar plan. If you don't copy and adapt ideas in politics - you aren't "preventing plaigirism", you're an idiot. Brown is doing it, that's why it's called the Brown plan.

Simon - take a look at the article I linked to in the Telegraph.

The key point is that Brown is being treated as a financial genius, which is clearly and demonstrably no the case.

He could have said thanks to the authors of the plan, but instead he's trying to take credit. Much in the same way that he tries to take credit for the falling Oil price and the Olympics.

These facts tell you something key about the weakness of character of the man.

I should also add - that in the academic world other peoples ideas are used and referenced all the time. They point is that they are also given credit.

But if Brown did this it would be hard to big up his image, so he gives in to temptation and keeps quiet. Weak man that he is.

Did you just get a visit from Labours rapid reaction propaganda unit? Or did a halfwit stumble in?

You'd have to bet on Derek Drapers band of party before country astro turfers.
