Man in a Shed said...: Either he's Machiavelli's vicar on Earth and has managed to hide his light till the right moment or he's the wet blanket who caved at the first smell or cordite this Summer.

Frankly I lean to the second. He has very little real experience, and the presence of a wet fish.

My wife already hates him. ( Which is generally a bad sign. )

However, I can't totally rule out a Granita II deal giving Brown till the Euro Elections. That might explain why he's behaved like a wet blanket all Sept and allowed himself to be humiliated by Brown at events like the "Cabinet away day" where he was paraded as a trophy by Brown.; 9:04 pm
