"If I'm honest ..."
Did anyone else spot that when Gordon's about to tell a whopper he prefixes it with the phrase "If I'm honest..." ?
Its a clever trick - because as he isn't being honest in means what follows should be ignored and he may convince his "moral compass" that he isn't really lying.
Clever if true - but also it would show a deeply twisted character. Not one who should be PM.
