From a desperate time

Just found the following whilst looking for some old computing equipment in a box. It was owned by my Grandfather in the 1940's, at a time when it was reasonable to have expected to use the information. ( My Grandfather had a reserved occupation in a scientific role - but is shows how people were thinking ).

Hopefully never again.
Its interesting to see what else Bernards were publishing for the general public at that time ( back cover below ). The Little Marvel vegetable reference sits oddly with some of the other titles.
Update: Though come to think of it with Liam Fox's posting over at Conservative home perhaps I'd better hold on to this...

Further update: It seems that some Tory grammar rebels are considering their own guerilla war here...(hat tip to UK Daily Pundit).
