Beer and steam

Man in a Shed took Boy in a Shed for a day out on the Watercress line in Hampshire last Saturday. Despite of the recreation being authentic down to the half hour delay in departure a good time was had by all. The time was agreeably past contemplating a pint or two of Best Bitter available on the train and explaining to Boy in a Shed why we couldn't get out at Ropely to see Thomas this time - he was way up on the sidings - out of bounds I assume!

Normally this service is put on for Real Ale Trains, I'm not sure if its a regular feature of the other services.

However it allowed me to accrue points with Her in Doors - enough to go to the Farnham Beer Festival next week (Hurray) !

This is one of the perks of being a dad.

Thanks for your comment about Cambridge, you are right, let's hope they can get some new blood together with fire in its belly.
