The warning about Labour's failure to provide power generation for the UK gets louder

Time is running out. Its now becoming harder and harder for the like of the child Ed Miliband to pretend the government has even the slightest grip on the UK's future power generation requirements.

Labour have failed here also.

The big and urgent challenge will fall to the next government. Its time for some honest grown up debate here.

The eco-thugs who try to create criminal damage to power stations need to be dealt with with the full force of the law. And the general public needs to grow up fast.

PS One big difference with the 1970s is that you could buy a pint of beer in a pub lite with candles and achieve much else even when the lights went out. In our electronics controlled world that's most unlikely to be true any more. That goes for much else in our society also.

Yup, that's exactly it.

We had the distraction of a so-called Climate Camp near here, at Kingsnorth, a while back. It cost millions of Pounds to police and all the rest of it, and achieved virtually nothing.

If only the protesters' efforts had been targeted more sensibly, and with a little maturity, perhaps something would be happening on the energy provision front…

Don't worry. The warnings will go quiet again once the power goes off.

The lights will go out when the Conservatives are in Government, so guess who will get the blame. It is only Labour who can get away with blaming our woes on Conservative administrations that expired ten or more years earlier. David Cameron will take the flack for all of Labour's failings since 1997, within 18 months of reaching office. Our Guardianista riddled mainstream media will see to that.

Nick drew has been pointing this out for years. Serial incompetence on the government's part. How could it let the nation run out of puff. Now the Tories will have to do some expensive, unpopular, quick fix bodge up that will make them look like bad ... ahhh, I see.

It's only when puts energy together with all the other fiascos that the true extent of the mayhem in this country becomes apparent.
