Brown guilty of putting political pressure on FSA to allow reckless lending

The Telegraph reports: "Gordon Brown helped fuel Britain’s banking crisis by pressuring the City regulator not to intervene and stop reckless lending, Lord Turner, the head of the Financial Services Authority, said. " Full article here by Robert Winnett.

On any other day this would have caused a storm that could have sweeped the prime minster from office.

Gordon's finger prints have now been identified at the scene of the crime and a witness has identified him as leaving the scene. How long can it be before the jury of public opinion finds him guilty ?

A good point; nay, an excellent one. However, socialist democracy in the form of New Labour (which has shaped public thinking through various clever and darstardly social engineering programs) over the past twelve years has left the nation soft-voiced and soft-minded, infantilised and fearful of repercussions. One dare not say anything too vehemently for fear of causing offence on PC grounds, or national grounds, or cultural - now multi-cultural, as the concept of culture as applied to the arts has been derided as elitist. It appears that everyone must apologise for truth-telling - to whit, Starbucks apologising to Mandelson - and avert their gaze from their political masters; only the Philosopher Kings possess power, and the mind of the mob directed towards unthinking, unquestioning obedience. The Conservatives have taken upon themselves the same anodyne banality that permeates New Labour's project; bar David Davis (and Howarth, for that matter) no-one seems to possess a sense of purpose, strong moral convictions, the ability to lead with humility.

Oh we know he's guilty, it's the sentencing we're waiting for.

But then he could be Jack the Ripper and 30% would still apparently support him.

I am absolutely astonished by the general lack of reporting of Turner's accusations. Only the Telegraph seems to reflect yesterdays bombshell in the Treasury Select Committee. At least Newsnight made a big deal about it last night.

I agree, Brown should be in the soup and collecting his P45 by now. Are all the papers except the Telegraph in Labour's pockets or what? How can it be that this news hasn't reached the front pages.
