The nationalisation of children

The socialists are slowly creeping towards the position where they will be able to demand the indoctrination of children, enforced by schools which must do what Ofsted says or face closure - and Ofsted does what the minister tells it.

Already my children talk about pollution and recycling. They show some level of stress about the subjects. But they have no sense of proportion or any understanding of the scientific or industrial processes or trade off's concerned.

The state now teaches a multi faith curriculum, each term a new religion. They're learning about the ancient Greeks right now - drawing pictures of their gods.

I have yet to hear any coherent English history being taught. ( Its mostly the "weren't poor people treated badly" in the past politicisation. If you want a flavour of it nip over to the BBC schools pages ).

Now the state wishes to tighten its control over what children are taught about sexual relationships. The excuse is teenage pregnancy and the spectacular exposition in STDs. But hidden just below the surface will be the desire to program social attitudes on homosexuality and other relationships. The special interest groups are salivating in the wings waiting for their chance to push parents aside and program their own version of utopia, without any of that annoying old fashioned conservatism that parents seem so stuck in.

People have been appearing on radio making assertions that "the research shows that" - but never citing which. We have more and earlier sex education, and yet the symptoms they of teenage pregnancy, the termination of unborn children and STD's rise sharply. They wish to programme the debate to make opposition impossible. They wish to program our children to have the thoughts they have deemed fit, and live the lives the state would have them live.

I'd like to say the Conservative party will oppose all this, but I am uncomfortably far from sure.

I always found Labour's re branding of the Ministry of Education to the Department for Children, Schools and Families chilling, it shows the scope of their ambition to control and destroy.

Read the description from their web site - its chilling:

The purpose of the Department for Children, Schools and Families is to make England the best place in the world for children and young people to grow up. We want to:

    • make children and young people happy and healthy
    • keep them safe and sound
    • give them a top class education
    • help them stay on track.

Our Children’s Plan sets out how we can achieve our ambitions.

PS Note it admits that it is an English department

Totally agree with you on the dumbed down, politically correct education. My kids get the same.
Most fence-posters won't get your latter argument about the ministry, but it is ominous - and slowly people are realising that the state is trying to take our souls away from us.

Yep it's bad. Might get worse though - have you seen this from Professor Dawkins? And I was only commenting yesterday on the dangers of atheism when it gets really militant!
