Congratulations to the Lightbox !

The Woking Lightbox has just won a £100,000 arts prize - congratulations ! Full details are in a BBC report here...

There are a number of interesting things going on in and around Woking. The local council's combined heat an power network, use of solar power, the new YPod (YMCA) even the controversial (ie expensive) pagoda outside the station.

For the size of town Woking has a lot going for it, including some of the best and fastest train connections into London. Its an example of a rare thing, a modern English town on the up.

No wonder the Martians wanted it. Glad I live here.
