What is Lib Dem policy on the regions ?

My local Lib Dems seem to want to abolish Surrey CC. Looks like the national party is heading in the other direction. Its a clear as Mud - which is just the way Lib Dems like it !

"The best way to save money is to abolish Surrey County Council." - quote Lib Dem borough manifesto ( Really ?- I would think it will cost millions in relocation, consultants and general disruption. )

Now of course you could have a unitary authority here - but those of us not naive enough to join the Lib Dems know this is a rouse to create regional govt and break up England.
