He is a Kurd and a Muslim, although not devout (he doesn't attend mosques or pray a lot).<br /><br />After the Iraq War wound down, he and his family moved back. I questioned that, but he said that his home country is his real home, in his heart, and it's hard to argue against that.<br /><br />I lost touch with him, but I'm very concerned. He was a nice guy, and very smart, and now it appears that he and his family are in the midst of the ISIS atrocities.
